Teagues contract isn't anywhere near the problem that Gorgui's is.

It's an extra $5 million per year problem, Doper. I know you and some others don't like Gorgui. I like both Teague and Gorgui. I don't like either contract, but I like Gorgui's better than Teague's. I'll bet it's easier to trade Gorgui than Teague right now because of their contracts. As I indicated, I wouldn't trade either becasue I want this season to play out before any major deals and because I don't think we'd get comparable value for either one right now.

I like G just fine, I hate his contract. It's completelyo disproportionate to performance. His contract is the reason our bench is pathetic this year and likely beyond. It was really bad timing but no way he gets more than 8 on the open market if we wouldn't have extended him. Teague is a starter and gets starter money.

I don't like Gorgui's contract either. But I think it's $5 million better than Teague's. Yes, Teague is a starter, but it's an overstatement to simply accept it as "starter money." Take a look at a much better team, the Rockets. Eric Gordon makes around $12.4 million and Trevor Aliza makes a little over $7 million. Or how about the Warriors? Draymond Green and Klay Thompson both make less than Teague. Our core starters are Butler, KAT and Wiggins. Thibs has already made Wiggins a max guy and KAT will become a max player after that. Butler makes $19 million. $19 million per year locked in for 3 years is excessive for the 4th or 5th guy in your starting lineup. And I would bet that it will be a lot easier to move Gorgui's contract for decent value in return than it will be to move Teague's.

It's not a fair comparison to compare a post cap spike deal to pre-cap spike deals.
