I dont think its a good idea to go in on bigger contracts for the tony snells of the world. Not that snell cant be good but look at how the best teams in the nba are built. They have 4 or five guys making most of their payroll and a lot of value guys or bargain deals on the bench. Obviously its harder to do that without a history of winning but we need to find bargain deals that can contribute. Go hard after millsap and then fill bench with bargain guys. They can be found. And if we have the coaching that we claim to have they can be coached up to be serviceable. Stars win in this league. Just the way it is. Cleveland who has spent way more than i see us ever is the only team has larger contracts deeper down there bench.

Taj Gibson - formerly played under Thibs and might be willing to sign with the Wolves and be reunited with him. Would give us toughness, vet experience and defense in the second unit and could start if called upon. 2 years 18 - 20mil
PJ Tucker - has expressed interest in playing for the Wolves. Gives us a solid permiter defender off the bench who can shoot the 3 at a respectible clip. 2 years 12 mil (player option)
Grevis Vasquez - coming off ankle surgery and an injury plagued past two seasons. However (when healthy) is a more than capable back up PG who could be acquired for cheap. 1 year 2 mil.
Ben Mclemore - never really improved playing for the Kings (but whoever does). Only 24 and shot .38 from deep last season. Can't see NBA teams lining up for his signature. 2 year 6 mil (team option)
Brandon Rush & Omri Casspi - Both good 3pt shooter who should be able to be re signed for 1 year vet mins.
PG - Rubio / Jones / Vasquez
SG - Wiggins / McLemore / Rush
SF - Butler / Tucker / Casspi
PF - Dieng / Bjelica / Patton
C - Towns / Gibson / Aldrich

Call me crazy, (or sauce) but i would try to sign......royce white to a cheap contract. Low risk high reward. Jimmer would be another. Take some guys that have the upside but dont need to be paid a lot. Depend on thibs to get the best out of their talent. Then we can spend on a big name. Preferably chris paul, but wouldnt be opposed to millsap.

Some good thoughts, Matt. I don't think we can afford to sign Gibson, Tucker and MaLemore. Tucker alone will probably require at least $15 of our $20 million in cap space. Taj alone will require at least $10 million per year and that's conservative. I like the idea of taking a chance on McLemore. He's gifted and can shoot from long range. If we can get him on the cheap, he's definitely someone to consider since he also still has high upside potential. Vasquez would be a nice cheap addition to our backcourt and I definitely like the idea of adding Casspi for what would probably be the vet minimum or room exception.

You are crazy. :). Actually, I kind of like the idea of signing Jimmer. As for Royce White, I don't see it, but on a cheap, short-term contract, there's no real risk.

Also would look at terrence jones, could come cheap now, shaun livingston if price is right, maybe jared sullinger, hell even larry sanders. Sign these guys to to cheap deals if can to fill bench with serviceable guys. Most of these guys wont demand much.

I think Livingston will be pretty pricey and I don't see him leaving the Warriors. The other guys you mentioned are certainly worth considering. By the way, what's the issue with Terrence Jones? Why do you think he'd have a low market value? I'm not necesssarily disagreeing with you, I'm just interested in getting a better handle on his situation.

It's time to bring Ekpe Udoh back over from Europe. Guy has become a really exciting "Draymond Green" type player both on offense and defense.

Waived by both new orleans and milwaukee this year. Lots of weird injuries from what i heard. Milwaukee actually waived him for gary payton jr after just three games. Be shocked if he would have a high price tag. I think will be interesting to see what livingston gets. Would like him as a backup pg at right price, if not would look at ian clark. They may be higher priced though. Doogie mentioned that he thinks one guy we will for sure get is mike dunleavy fwiw.

Udoh would be a good pickup too. Got to take chance on these type guys and hope that a few of them hit.
