So I think we have 4 open roster spots to fill with our one high draft pick and free agency. We have decent cap space for free agents. So no need to trade any of our young guys before the season.
No Pek?

I'm almost convinced there will be trades prior to the season.

Yep, and we have even more flexibility because Rudez is a team option (doesn't bring us much, but is cheap at $1.2 million). I'd love to see us let Rudez go, and add a draft pick, the European PF Dubs, Deng, Price and someone else (depending on need). Barring injuries, that lineup wins 55 games.
LST FYI Dubs is under contract in Europe (signed an extension last summer) and can't come over till 2017 at the earliest.

Ah, thx monster. Could always be a buyout, but not likely. Since we forgot about Pek who is under contract, we can only add 4 players anyways. I'd like the draft pick, Deng, Price and whatever.

I think my Ronnie Price suggestion for this team has been the most universally agreed with take I've had on this board. Who would have thought??

Just to be clear Dubs has a buyout option in 2017 not before.
Sidenote: how much do we need to save for next year to be able to sign Dubs? I don't think we are going to get him for a cap space adjusted bargain like we did with Belly. It's gonna cost more.

I'd love to have Price on this team. I think the fans here would fall in love with his hustle and tough defense. He's not going to give you much on offense, but he will protect the ball and be a great guy in the locker room. I think he will be a terrific coach in this league some day...who knows, maybe here.

Price is a perfect fit it's hard to aurgue with the idea of bringing him on. Why?
1. Defense
2. Plays hard
3. Will be pretty cheap
4. Has over 500 games of experience
5. Isn't a threat to Tyus in general. If Price doesn't play for 3 or 4 games he isn't going to be pouring or throwing tantrums asking for a buyout or whatnot.
6. He has also played minutes at SG so that's something he can do if you HAVE to play him there.
7. Elite steals guy
8. He just always has seemed to be a guy that can play. Who doesn't like Ronnie Price?
That's alot of positives for a guy you could throw a 2 million dollar granted contract at and he would jump at the chance and it would be his biggest payday of his career. He has limitations but that's ok for a 3rd PG. PG is such a deep position though in the NBA it's possible we could do even better. I'd be thrilled with Price though.

If KG returns and we keep Rudez, we'll have 3 roster spots to fill. Here's one attractive scenario for filling those spots:
1. Draft Buddy
2. Sign Price as FA for around $2 million per year for 2 years
3. Sign Noah as FA for around $10 million per year for 2-4 years
I could see a second unit on the floor consisting of Price, Buddy, Bazz, Belly and Noah. Another variation could be Price, Bazz, Belly, KG and Noah. In either case, it would be Tyus instead of Price.

I guess that Price is liked so much at least partially because in last game against Phoenix, he played some terrific on ball defense on Ricky. I don't remember that Rubio would have had ever that much problems in bringing ball up court. So we might think that if he can be a handful for Ricky, he can be that also for other points as well and the price of Price should not be too high. I would offer two years two million per year contract with the 2nd year being team's option for him.
