Married young as did my daughter. I'm still spry enough to lace 'em up against most guys on this board. :-d

Ahh.. After a hip replacement and knee problems, my "lace 'em up" days are over. But I can still take set shots in front of my pole barn...

What's astonishing to me is how poised the Wolves are at the end of games...not what you would expect from a team with three guys just over 20 years old on the floor. Towns and Prince were terrific on that last play, but I also give Mitchell some credit. Yes, he can be overly intense at times on the sidelines and tough on guys like Zach, but if you watched him during that last timeout, he exhibited nothing but calmness and control in the huddle as he drew up the final play...that calmness has to rub off on his youngsters, and contribute to their poise. Others have pointed out the Wolves success coming out of timeouts (they have been in the top 5 in scoring percentage much of the year), so I was not surprised that they scored on the final possession. I think Portland assumed that Sam would draw up a play for Wig, because that is typically what he does at the start of games and out of timeouts. Portland's focus on Wig allowed KAT to get isolated one-on-one, and we knew that Prince would find him in the right place and KAT would not be denied.
Just a great finish to a terrific road trip.
I just don't understand how an NBA official could be that bad in a circumstance like that. He had to be looking to make a call to come up with that garbage.
Some pundits in town here thought the 5 second call against the Blazers 30 seconds later was a make-up call. It certainly was timely for the Wolves. I suspect the NBA will be looking at both calls and we will get their verdict today.

Not the smartest foul by Rubio at the end and I'm not necessarily defending the play BUT if they allowed a continuation on that play then everything could be a considered continuation. Lilliard caught the ball, was fouled, then dribbled and shot.
Overall great win, it's exciting to think we could reach 30 wins. If Tyus, Bjelly, and Shabazz finish the last couple games strong I'd feel really good about our depth and drafting the best player available.

Lilliard didn't dribble after the foul. It was the correct call and a great example of why it's tough to give that foul at the end of the game.
I think you are dead on about how those 3 bench guys have played and what it could mean when it comes to the draft. I've said it before why not bring back Prince too? This team has a legit shot at being a playoff team next year he won't get as much playing time but he could come back be that old vet that can still play some to help the young guys. Regardless I agree take the best player you can get within reason when you draft. The way some guys have played down the stretch it feels like this upcoming pick is a luxury not a need even though we all know this team needs more talent to become a true contender but we don't have to pray this pick becomes a top 20 player he can just be a solid starter and it would be Big and just fine going forward for the franchise.

Hopefully the pic shows up but Rubio does contract him prior to the dribble.
Agree completely, the pick still needs to be a really good player but his ceiling is not as important this year. I'd bring Prince back and even tell KG not to retire (this might be controversial but if everything is true his mentor ship of Towns has been well worth it).

Thanks for giving me a reason to go back and watch the last couple minutes of that game. Lol in all seriousness it was good because I was able to listen to the Wolves broadcast and I had smooth playback. When I was watching earlier I had poorer internet connection and had lower frame rate. So after watching back you are right in that Rubio made contact before the dribble but it looked to me they called the foul after that when Lilliard was going up for the shot. It was a tough call fortunately the Wolves were able to overcome it.
Also I was able to see the Wiggins offensive foul and it was a bad call. I think a couple people said the game was officiated well or at least fair in general and I agree. There was some poor and missed call for both sides. The Wolves were so calm at the end of that game which was especially significant after that Wiggins call they could have completely fallen apart.

The exciting part of all of this is we had a couple calls go against us at the end and we still beat a playoff team at their place. That's what great teams are able to do. Even during the Love era it seemed like we needed everything (making shots, the other team not making shots, calls, etc) to go our way to win a game, now it feels like our play on its own is good enough to win games.

Nice to see the 2+1. Also glad to have lst back posting as well. I miss the game as I usually miss weekend games but its great to see us beating a playoff team. Im with the guys that want us to win our last few games and have a strong end to the season even if we end up tying with the pelicans.
