I'd like to see our big 3 and Thibs pick up a tech when teams get really physical on us and the whistles go away. Refs don't show much respect to young teams. If the game is getting overly physical pick a missed call and get a tech. Show some fire.

I just finished watching the game I haven't looked at the box score or read any posts. Here are my thoughts.
Dieng was easily the best Wolves Big tonight. Towns wasn't very good. I think sometimes he gets hims KG too jacked up for some matchups.
I knew the Kings had won the game but I saw that Lavine was matched up with Affalo and I thought oh man that's not gonna be good. Lavine won that matchup.
Wiggins got owned my Gay but damn the guy had a terrific game otherwise.
Dunn had another solid game.
Bazz good gravy that guy can fill it up and he had that assist to Dunn for the 3. I kinda wonder if Thibs could have gone to him in that 3rd quarter to see what would happen.
Lawson looks solid.
I told people that some of the western Conference teams weren't just pushovers. That's slings team is a vet team and Joerger has them playing hard and playing some D. Are the Wolves underachieving? Yeah but that Kings team looks like it's not going to suck.
Rebounding was one of the big problems and just getting 50/50 balls.
It was mentioned Rubio doesn't play Lawson well. Rubio played his butt off and then got hurt but overall it just didn't feel like it was another good game for him. I liked how he was defending Affalo when he got switched on him
Cousins. Crazy beast everything there is to be said has probably already been said.
This is a young team and it's showing but it also feels like Thibs isn't taking some timeouts or inserting different guys. My guys is he is staying with a process. It doesn't look good now but it's 2 games in we will see what happens.

Now I'll do my own summary: We're not comin'. We're not comin'. Not yet at least.
But there's 80 games left. I'm going to guess we play the next 10 to 15 without Rubio. Hopefully we can hold the fort. Agreed Dunn looks more than capable on the defensive end at least. That said, another season out of the playoff race by the all-star break would be seriously depressing. But I'm still optimistic, as we easily and probably should be 2-0 after two road games with our best player playing subpar.
The life of a Timberwolf fan: eternally hopeful, constantly frustrated. Keep calm and carry on.
Heh, you nailed it Mstermisty!

Monster, Dieng had a heck of a game, but let's face it, he was helpless anytime he was isolated against Cousins one on one. He just can't hold his ground and ultimately we had to double him in crunch time which led to some wide open shots for the Kings.
Gay bullied Wiggins quite a bit too. Strength/bulk is definitely the one physical trait we don't have much of. We have everything else - speed, length, athleticism. But the only two guys big and strong for their position is Bazz when he plays SF and Dunn at PG. Otherwise, everyone is average or undersized (weight/width-wise).

Yeah agreed on Dieng but Towns wasn't any better. Like you said it's a weakness of this team. Towns and Wiggins are gonna get stronger. How much stronger? Idk but they are still so young physically.

Not sure....KAT has always had pretty skinny legs, but a thicker upper body. Certainly he has more natural bulk than Dieng, but I'm not sure how strong his base will get. Wiggins is wiry strong, but he looks nearly the same he did at Kansas. I just don't think he's capable of putting on a lot more weight.

It's amazing how narrow our guys are. Wig can't even get his shirt to stay tucked in. Zach looks like a blade. And KAT looks like a pipe cleaner from the waist down.

It begs the question as to whether we need to find a big 3&D SF and slide Wiggins to SG and do the same at Center, moving KAT to PF (at least to start games). That would mean LaVine becomes the 6th man.
Waaaaay too early to do anything like this or make any trades of course, but we'll have to see how often we lose because of being pushed around and bullied. The Kings and Memphis got a lot of good interior looks because we can't hold our ground or do a good enough job on the defensive glass.

Which is why I still think our best lineup isn't going to be with Wiggins primarily at the 2 and Bazz/Rush at the 3.

Ok Cool or anyone can help me out with this. Why do guys tie up theor shorts when coming in? Also with all the technology we have can't we come up with Jerseys that don't come untucked? I mean I don't really care that much but it just seems odd to me I have been wondering all this for quite some time.
