Q -- I liked the way Bazz played last night for the reasons Monster mentioned. But I do see him as the one young guy with value I wouldn't mind trading.

I've never been a big fan of Lynch's analysis. Rubio's actually a better shooter than Dunn right now and Dunn doesn't look like a shooter. Ricky's finishing at the rim well so far and I still think he'll be a good set three-point shooter. But Ricky's game in every other respect is unique and exceptional. He and Dunn look like they'll be a tremendous one-two punch at PG. Both are great disruptive defenders and excellent rebounders. Ricky is a mistro offensively setting guys up, but Dunn looks like he has the makings of a very good playmaker.

Dunn has a long way to go as a shooter so I don't see any basis for assuming that we will ever be in a position to upgrade our shooting by replacing Ricky with Dunn at PG. Both are locked up for several years on very reasonable contracts and neither one needs to shoot well because we have a plethora of shooters. Guys playing off Rick doesn't stop him from being among NBA leaders in assists and orchestrating the offense better than just about any PG in the League. As for deep playoff runs, let's wait until we're in a position for that sort of thing and see what happens. We have so many scorers and really versatile players that I don't think it will matter. KAT, Wiggins and LaVine are all scorers and can all handle the ball. Dieng can score both inside and out and, along with KAT, is a terrific passer. We're not like any other team so the more typical model for playoff success where the PG is a threat to score form the perimeter doesn't necessarily apply to the Wolves.

I finished the game a couple more thoughts.

The performance in the first half for Rubio and Dunn was against 2 legit NBA PGs in Walker and Sessions. Dunn looks taller and bigger than Sessions who always seemed like a pretty big Pg.

They mentioned how Big Dieng was and how lean Jordon hill was. Hill did some nice stuff in this game but yeah he does look leaner than I was remembering. I wonder if he was looking to be more of a PF.

I hope whatever was slowing Zach down he gets over quickly. He was clearly hobbled. It was probably just a turned ankle or something but I don't like seeing guys being gimpy.

Also I am watching the condensed game of the first preseason meeting between these 2 teams right now. They basically show the scoring plays. Bazz on 2 straight transition possessions gave up the ball. Of course before I give him to much credit he also had what might have been some poor defensive possessions on Lamb. :p

Lip your tune seems to have changed on Dunn based on one preseason game. I'm a huge Dunn fan, and believe his ceiling is very high. It does look like there is going to ups and downs with him this year. But your opinion appears to have changed drastically in one preseason game.

I actually really thought Lynch's analysis was spot on in regards to both Rubio and Shabazz, both fair and objective. If I were to bet Tibs grows old with Bazz's tunnel vision and selfish play on offense.

That's how Lip rolls. He goes to the home games and then reports his thoughts soon after. There is a lot of emotion and gut reaction with the game still fresh in his mind. I suppose that means he over-rotates from time to time, but he gives those of us watching from home unique insights based on being there in person.
