correct. Ricky stated that those were the two best assets and russell and young were the worst. I would rate the assets

1.Russell
2.Rubio
3. 1st round pick
4. Young

is that wrong?

How is Rubio or a 1st round pick a higher asset then Russel?

Lol. I was wondering the same thing. No shortage of silly ideas I guess.

What has Russell shown in the NBA? Not much. IMO I'd rather have Rubio over Russell and an unprotected 1st over Russell. I was never high on Russell and watching him this preseason made me think he's probably not one of the top 10 players in this draft. I also think the chemistry with Rubio on the team is much better than the chemistry with Russell would be. Not a fan of guys who put out a lot of bravado, he's a Me guy who wouldn't fit well on a We team. Also, not a fan of guys who don't play good defense. Let the Lakers keep Russell. We'll be fine without him.

Yes, in my opinion its wrong. I think you overvalue Russell based on the draft hype.

Chuck Hayes was recently cut by Houston :-)

Unprotected pick scares the hell out of me I don't care if it's 5 years from now that's a big asset. The Lakers might not hold onto that they may move it but that's not just a throwaway asset.

i watched some games of Russell/Lakers and he is always the slowest and least athletic guard on the floor, he can not get by anybody including Calderon who is getting torched by everyone on nightly basis .. and his defense is atrocious which comes back to athleticism aswell, what can poor kid do other than to turn around when guys like Bledsoe are driving .. i would have hard time to accept any trade involving him at this point

We have a player in the top 20 in P.E.R. at every position.

I'd like to stay pat for awhile. See if these guys can figure out how to defend with Ricky on the court and off. Lavine and Miller provide two guards off the bench with entirely different skills depending on the need. When we get Pek back we should let Garnett fade except when we are playing weak.

Martin is likely the odd man out at some point, but I'd like to see Bazz get his minutes, not Lavine.

If Martin is dealt (which could happen) I'd like to see a majority of the SG minutes go to Zach. Bazz will get his time if he can stay healthy.

The real issue will stay the same. Wiggins is our best 2 and our best 3. So we need to ask is Bazz a better 3 than Lavine is a 2? I think he is, and that is why I opt to play Wiggins/Bazz at the 2/3 over Lavine/Wiggins. I hope that Lavine and Bazz can get a healthy rivalry for playing time, but for now I think Bazz should have the edge.

I don't agree Doper. Zach has a much higher ceiling than Bazz and is more versatile in the things he can do.
