And then there's this...
"already a scary rim protector. Opponents have scored 12 fewer points per 100 possessions against Minnesota with Towns on the floor, and they're shooting a ghastly 40.8 percent on shots near the rim when Towns is around, per NBA.com -- a figure that would have been neck-and-neck with Rudy Gobert's league-best mark last season."

A Zach Lowe sighting!
NICE.
NICE.
Re: Towns comparison
Good article, brings up a lot of the same discussions we talk about on here.

....then look at what happens when Gorgui comes into the game. Not pretty.
Our bench is tilted too much toward guys with offensive strengths/focus. Martin, Shabazz, Dieng, and Miller/Zach (either guy at PG) is just not a good combination. Bjelica seems passable on defense, but at least he isn't hunting shots the same way the other guys are.
I don't think we need to do anything in the short-term, but if this team has aspirations toward playoff success starting next season, they are going to need to address this.

Re: Towns comparison
The other thing that article mentions is the idea of trading one or both of Dieng/Shabazz. That's certainly been talked about here as I think there are legitimate questions about how they fit into the core of the team going forward. I also agree though that nothing needs to be done in haste. Let's continue to see how things play out this season.

Does anyone know what Lowe was talking about when he said something about an assistant coach stabbed someone in the back?

Was wondering about that too.
I hated Rambis enough to have considered doing it myself... literally. But I couldn't gain access to the team.

I was thinking that was the most likely era because it seemed like those assistants were a weird collection of wanna be HCs and that seemed to be part of the problem.
Re: Towns comparison
The comparison was made in a joking manner on nbatv "fan night" because Webber was hosting and how similar his numbers with that of Chris's were in his first 10 games as a rookie with Golden State and i actually buy it. Although i see Towns being better defensively.
