Lol at the tweet sjm posted. 3 years eh Sam? Is that how long it took Duncan and Robinson when they were back to back #1 picks?

Todd, they weren't back to back picks, and both also stayed in college or the Navy (the admiral) I think in Robinson's case, but there is a point in there. If they aren't ready to play, maybe they shouldn't have come out after one year.

Q12543 wrote:When Mitchell refers to "these guys", who is he referring to? Wiggins, LaVine, and Towns are really the only three in the rotation that I can see still needing some additional weight and strength, but everyone else is fully matured and they are what they are.

I also think that while LaVine is still pretty slender, he's a guard for crying out loud. How big and strong is Kevin Martin or Jeremy Lamb or Jamaal Crawford? Same goes for Wiggins, especially if he keeps playing the 2.

So in my book, Towns might be the only guy that needs to truly get stronger, especially if he keeps playing Center full-time. But even he isn't that far off. He's been man-handled a little bit less than I thought he would be.

I was thinking about that as well Q. There is no reason to think that Lavine or WIggins will necessarily put on that much weight. Guys Wade and Lebron weren't skinny little kids when they came into the league, whereas Durrant was, and still is.

The SP -- It could be tanking, or it could just be stupid.

I agree with this take. Sam doesn't have a brilliant master plan up his sleeve, he just sucks.

I was going to post these same points under the headline "are we better than we look?". I think Sam is the problem. If we had , say Stotts doing what he is doing in Portland (as pointed out in this thread), we'd be a better team.

Still too early to throw Sam under the bus and run over him, but yeah, perhaps the engine needs to get started. Let's give him a couple more months and see if guys improve or if he's willing to make some adjustments. Of course, eventually injuries will force his hand. Let's hope it's not the wrong guys that get injured!

6 games in 9 nights. I think Sam will make adjustments after this period. Teams don't come together overnight.

I don't get the tanking thing. If they were really gonna try and tank in any way there would be no freaking point in having these vet guys. I won't convince people that think otherwise and I realize Q's soft tank position has more nuances than an all out tank but I just don't buy it. That's all. Carry on.
