It's a fair comment, Tim...I saw someone else make the same comparison today, and I think it's valid. Athletes coming off a severe injury often experience lesser injuries after they come back, and that seems to be what is happening with Rubio and Durant. It's probably not fair for me to be ripping him for his hamstring issue. I think my frustration with our 0-3 record sans Ricky is showing.
KD had 3 surgeries on his broken foot (an injury that has completely ended careers in the past). Ricky had a bad ankle sprain. One of these injuries is not like the other.

Tell that to Terrell Brandon and Troy Hudson. Lol
Of course I am joking. Durant's injury is serious and I am worried about his career. I hope he comes back healthy. It would be such a shame if he doesn't get back to what he was.

Collison is capable of starting and keeping the ship afloat. 14 PPG / 6 APG / 3 RPG with a TS% of .557 in 33 MPG as a starter for his career. You'd think he'd be available with the way Rondo's playing and Karl's benching of McLemore.
I think I'd jump for joy if that trade happened!
SAC drafted him maybe they can bring him back in a KG like fashion, I know I don't want him.
Rubio already missing 3 games is extremely disappointing, but I understand the cautious approach right now. It's early in the season, and more important a hamstring injury is something you don't want to make worse.
Also let me point out the irony in Rubio's injury situation: last season we were 2-2 and on our way to beating a bad Orlando team to go 3-2. Instead Ricky got hurt and we lost that game, then went on to a brutal 16 win season. I doubt we would have sniffed the playoffs if Ricky had stayed healthy, but I'm positive would have won enough games to move us down in the lottery--maybe picking in the 5 to 7 range. This would have meant a player like WCS, Mudiay, Johnson, etc. All nice players, and some capable of becoming all-stars or even better.
BUT INSTEAD WE GOT TOWNS. A guy who's ceiling right now looks to be MVP of the league and defensive player of the year. I'd say his floor is a multiple all-star.
So ironically, possibly the most important moment in this franchise's history could have been when Ricky got injured in game 5 last season. That's the reason we got Towns.
So to conclude, when Ricky has his season ending injury in the next couple weeks and we end up with Simmons in next year's draft, just remember it was all part of the basketball gods' master plan.
But seriously, lets hope Ricky comes back from this injury soon and has nothing major happen the rest of the season. It's already been proven he's the one player we can't afford to lose. Except of course for last season, when losing him was the best thing that could have happened.
I wonder if Boston would do Martin for Thomas? They have pretty much no perimeter shooting currently in the rotation. Smart/Martin/Crowder covers for Martin defensively and Martin can handle Thomas' existing scoring load. We would get a PG who can both come off the bench and be an effective starter when Ricky goes down. I think both teams get what they need in the trade.

Ainge gave up a 1st to get Thomas last year at the deadline, I think he sees him as one of his better players. Boston has plenty of PG's and sometimes teams do crazy things for shooting so who knows its worth putting out there.

Heh, may be through his injuries and subsequent lottery picks, we'll finally have enough talent that we won't collapse like a house of cards every time he gets hurt! First his rookie year, then last season, and now we-re 0-3 without him this season. Can someone else step up please!?

I'd put the chances of them being interested in Martin for Thomas at zero. Thomas gives you basically everything Martin does but younger and he is a playmaker. I doubt his defense is any worse. Thomas is a career 36% 3 point shooter that's good enough and he shoots a high volume of them. I am a big fan of Thomas.

hey it's ok, another player who had a completely different injury and surgery is also having problems with a bad hamstring so its just's fine that Rubio is dealing with the same
