It's make or break for Pek either way, but I have a feeling it will be a positive outcome due to the nature of this surgery. The recovery time shouldn't be that long either.

I hope the recovery is short. I think the plan last year was rest. That is part of the reason he was not in the best shape.

The news from the surgery is good but the guy is big (to lose 30lb the guy would have to cut muscle) and those guys don't age well history shows that. I voted for the 50 games and at this point if we get Pek playing reasonably well for that amount of games we should be almost thrilled. Anything more than that is gravy.
The good news is that this team is likely 2 years away from doing anything when it comes to the playoffs. By the time that is a factor Pek will be nearly off the books or an expiring contract that can be moved if needed. Hopefully we will have found a useful starting C to replace him.

I also voted 50 games. This has just been going on for too many years and we've all heard the "he'll be healthy next year" thing before with Pek. It just seems like he has some chronic issues that probably won't get better. It would be great if the surgery works, but I'm not holding my breath.
