Hiring an assistant coach to go after a player who won't be a free agent for 6 years doesn't make any sense.

Maybe AD is the contingency plan in case Wiggins bolts for Toronto after a couple of titles with the Wolves by then?

Why would AD come here if presumably our best player is leaving at that time? You just can't make any moves for 6 years out. Way too much can happen in that time to plan for anything. I would bet it was made to bring in a guy with familiarity and some level of rapport with Wiggins. Flip doesn't seem to want to take many risks as the decider of personnel. He seems to go with what's comfortable for both himself and his players. I worry that there may not be enough push from the coaches to the players if everyone is just comfortable. Where's the edge gonna come from to push these guys to the next level? Flip, Mitchell and Lowe are all soft now. I think KG and Ricky are the only guys in the entire organization with the edge needed to win. I think that edge needs to be there from the top down and sadly I think we only have two players and no coaches who have it.

Sam Mitchell soft? I feel pretty confident in saying that's not his problem.
