It's not just the move to SG. It's the pairing our two #1 picks with players who want nothing more than for those two to succeed, on both ends of the court. We need to give it time to play out, but if it works, and both Wiggins and Towns are able to impose their will on the game, coupled with one of the top scoring benches in the NBA... Well, I'm sorry, it is a "stroke of genius".

Wiggins and Towns will not be able to impose their will on many games this year Tim. I do get the logic of making Wiggins and Towns the focal point of our offense to start games, surrounded by a group of smart and more defensive-oriented vets. But these moves that Flip and now Mitchell have orchestrated, whether it's the mentoring thing or starting these two kids with a bunch of vets all are meant to pay dividends one, two, three years and beyond. We aren't going to be bearing much fruit this season and the sooner you realize that, the less time you will waste deceiving yourself into thinking this is a playoff caliber squad.
Sorry to pop your balloon!

Fiesty today, Q! Fiesty.
Well, you know I can't help but envision a much faster growth path than you. And as it unfolds before us THIS year, I sure hope you give Sam his due...

Yeah, there is a lot of hot air in that blimp!
Edit: Sorry, didn't answer your question. Because one is a 19-year old rookie and the other is a 20-year old 2nd year player. Sorry, unless you are LeBron James, guys that age don't impose their will on games!

I'm sitting in for Alex today....
As for Sam, I have said all along that I'm open to what he can do. Obviously he made a big mistake early with the Zach thing, but let's see how things progress from here.

I am not so sure about that. While I don't think it matters what we list Wiggins at for position, and more of who we pair him with. I was very impressed with his ability to get to the line. If we can continue to get size mismatches for him, there is no reason he can't continue what he started at the end of last season.
Towns is a lot further along than I thought he would be at this stage, and doesn't seem to have any issue attacking offensively. I think a better defensive effort and scheme will go a long ways to turning losses into wins.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting that Towns and Wiggins won't continue to progress and get better. But to me it takes a few years to be truly the type of player that "imposes his will" on games. That is Westbrook, LeBron, Durant, Harden, Curry, Paul territory. Neither of these guys are even close to that yet. And these other guys do it every damn game (or almost every game).
I watched a lot of Wiggins in both the FIBA games and pre-season. He's just not there yet - we are getting way ahead of ourselves here.

But Q he didn't have the full effect of Prince and KG facilitating him (none of that in Fiba) to impose his will. ;)
