Quick question. Just heard on PTI that the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Lebron won't be recruiting Love this off season. That leaves the door open for a move to LA. If that happens would you trade Towns for Okafor and Randle if offered?

No.
Take KAT and don't look back.

Okafor and Randle. Absolutely yes. But why on earth would they do it? I could see them ending up with Boogie and Love though. Imagine that. In a year they would have arguably the most talented front court in the NBA.

Okafor and Randle won't be able to stop anyone. Lakers will go Russell and totally screw the 76ers.

The only thing this says to me is that love is going to a new team because he's felt the pressure of not being wanted in Cleveland. Honestly, if Cleveland had 15 mil to spend on other players they would have had a better chance of taking that championship. I don't doubt that he's been alienated in the locker room and will be in a Celtics, 76er, or Lakers uniform this year. Lebron and Kyrie will be the championship ticket in Cleveland. They need defensive and spot up shooters to surround them. They can have 2-3 players that are very good for these roles in exchange for letting Love walk. It will happen.

If Lebron is pounding the table for Thompson but isn't for Love, then I think Love bolts. Lebron runs the Cavs, so if he wants Thompson and is lukewarm with Love I see the Cavs going with Thompson over Love. I know LA is on the west coast, but Boston is a big market team with a ton of tradition, has one of the best young coaches, plays in the East, has a ton of assets as far as picks going forward, and was a playoff team last year. To me I would go there and not look back. I think he goes to LA though.

Love would not have been alienated, he does the alienating. I don't doubt he bolts because he doesn't feel wanted, but will his inability to connect with teammates you cannot put the blame on the Cavs.

Though with Love I don't think it would be out of the question for him to walk to say, LA, and do the same 2-year thing.
But you wonder what Love is going to be offered by the Cavs. I think they are already at $66 million for just 8 players, and TT and Shumpert could cost them another $12 million (just guessing). If they're at $78 million for ten players not counting Love and the lux tax threshold is only $81.6 next season, how much are they going to be willing to dole out for Love? I get why LeBron is doing this, because he's going to get his $22 million and still be in huge demand when the cap goes up next year. But Love isn't LeBron. I think if I'm him, I opt in for the $16.7 and roll the dice in a year.
I completely agree with you on opting in and reupping next season when the cap goes up, but are you figuring in Haywoods unguaranteed contract into those numbers? I haven't checked myself, but I do recall reading that no matter what the Cavs will be hitting the luxury tax hard. I think they made a big mistake resigning Varejao to such a silly contract.
Yeah, I included Haywood's $10 million because the source I was looking at said it was guaranteed. Everything makes a little more sense if you take Hayward out.

Hypothetically, I make that trade, kahns. But LA would never give up a talent like Randle just to move up one spot. KAT's still my guy, but Okafor and Randle would be too much to pass up.

Im just guessing but this is probably what love is thinking.
This is NOT just about whether he wants to remain with the cavs. Its as much whether the cavs wants him back or prefer to cut ties with him and maybe trade him for pieces and depth( this is possible). If cavs wants him back badly and offer the max, he probably stays. If not, then he bolts or the cavs could arrange a sign and trade to get him the most money and assets in return.
If love stays then he is closer to a championship with the cavs regardless of his role. If he bolts then he most likely gets more touches and be an all star and top player again.
His camp can always spin it that they intend to stay all along should he return. Or they could say the cavs wish to move on from him( Not hard to believe). Its on the cavs now, they could chase and make him feel really wanted or choose to go the sign and trade path and get some assets and depth to their team.
