Flip has spent a lot of time talking about the need for 2-way players. He got Wiggins. Adding Towns just makes sense.

I've read that the 76ers really want Russell. I would be tempted to see if Philadelphia would be willing to move up to get him knowing you would still get Towns or Okafor at 3.

If Flip is smart he starts playing like Russell is the guy. If he does that, you might just get your cake and eat it too as you suggest.

Yeah he has to play that game. If he has Towns and Okafor equally rated it makes so much sense to play that game. You can use the Knicks as leverage. I think Russell fits the triangle much better than Mudiay.

I voted Okafor. I hear Flip has a woody for him. I think Towns would be the correct choice

I didn't know this... If true, it actually could be a factor... Not sure how it's true or if it's possible, though. Toronto kid and a kid from Chicago?

Important to remember: Jahlil Okafor and Andrew Wiggins have been close friends for years. Could influence Minny's decision.

I won't complain about Okafor because he's damn good himself, but I will hope with all my might that he magically gets better defensively and at the free throw line. That's where he struggles most.

In Okafor's defense (not a pun), he is a tremendous low-post scorer who could probably beat all but six centers (Cousins, Gasol, Jefferson, Lopez, Howard, Vucevic) in the NBA today in a game of one-on-one. That's where he makes his impact. He also seems to have a great work ethic, based on his growing post move repertoire and his evident weight loss (Did you see him at the lottery? He looked great!).

I'd also expect Flip to try his best to trade up for Tyus Jones. That seems like it'd be his goal following the top pick.

PS: You know who would be a terrific fit next to Okafor? Nemenja Bjelica...

Cam, not sure I understand bolded part. Did you mean NB would be good fit next to Towns and not Okafor? Given both Okafor and NB will be negative defenders, I don't see the fit. Towns, on the other hand, seems like a guy to pair with him given his defensive upside. Curious what you see in this pairing.

So, which one of the top draftees is most similar to KG? Another reason Flip will go with Towns.

Interesting. Chemistry is important, although Wiggins seems like a guy that gets along who guys easily.

Okafor baby. Couldn't be more happy. Perfect fit with Rubio and Wiggins.

I think Bjelica would be a good fit next to either one of them. For Okafor, it's because he's a stretch-forward who could open up more room for Okafor in the low post. Also, Bejlica's a pretty skilled passer so I could see him with drive and dish opportunities there as well. Defensively it probably isn't the best simply because you'd hope for more rim protection next to Okafor. I agree the fit is better next to Towns, but you could probably say that about everyone. Towns' game works with just about anyone... which is a reason why I've liked him so much since the beginning.

Good Post Cam. I could actually see Flip being insecure enough about losing stars to draft a friend of a star who says he wants to be here forwever.
