Wait, are you, PorkChop, suggesting Rubio going down would make a substantial difference in wins?
Before the draft I thought it would be wise to have a vet backup PG who would likely be THE backup PG, and then add a young PG as well as 3rd PG (thru the draft or LoBrown, etc.).
But it sure seems that Tyus is being projected as THE backup PG. I believe Flip will still add a vet backup PG to be a 3rd PG (or combo guard), but that guy does not have to be as high a quality player as I thought we needed before the draft. So someone like Luke, on the back end of his career, is a possibility.

Lol, I was referring to the teams mindset. Rubio playing doesnt make us lose more games, I've never felt like he's won us more games. Does that make sense?

I hope you aren't being serious with the bold portion. He may not be hitting game winning shots, but the team wins more when he plays.
The only over moves I think is necessary is trading Budinger. If Bjelica is going to sign as rumoured then I think Bennett is as good as gone too. Hopefully we can get some non guaranteed contracts in return.
How much is Bjelica worth, and for how many guaranteed years? I don't want to tie up money for the PF version of Alexey Shved when our front court already has a lot of players (note, I see Towns and Dieng both being able to play a some PF, and I'm not nearly as down on Payne as others here). I know next to nothing about this guy except for a couple youtube videos.

And when Martin plays, and Pek plays. Doesn't make them great players, just better than the hot garbage thats playing behind them. Starters should always have more to do with wins than backups. This team has been mediocre since Rickys been here. Should he not shoulder any of the blame?

It seems likely he will get a contract for 15-18 million for 3 years. Bjelica was named the Euroleague MVP. Think of it this way how excited would you be about adding the college basketball player of the year? Euroleague is a stronger top to bottom league than college basketball and Bjelica was recognized as a really valuable player in a very good league. Will it translate? Idk but guess what how many mid-level guys work out? Shved didn't work out but Pek did.
What is really nice is our core players are almost all on rookie contracts: Karl, Wiggins, Zach, Dieng, Bazz, Tyus . Also if Payne or AB end up worth keeping they will be on rookie contracts too. If Ricky gets healthy, his contract could be a nice bargain when the cap swells. Pek's contract isn't great given his chronic health problems, but it does decline in later years. We probably will have the most enviable cap situation heading into the 2016-17 season. We certainly could add a star or two to our core in another year and we could be a desirable destination for someone who wants to be part of the next big thing in the NBA. With the right coaching hire in a year, we might be able to attract a superstar. Could Scott Brooks help us land Durant? Thibs get us Butler or Noah? Calipari get us one of the Kentucky alums? etc.
