Does Gorgui make more than all of them combined? The 4 is a big point of weakness for us right now.

Ugh. I can see a decent argument for starting Dieng due to salary/boost trade value -- or attempt to.

I can see Rosas' vision for having one guard, three wings, and one big on the floor at all times -- starting Covington, Culver, and likely Wiggins.

In an absolutely ideal world, Vonleh becomes Jamychal Green and we can lean on him as a starter who just takes what's given to him offensively as a fifth option and compliments Towns defensively.

I think we should be trying to find a way to go big and punish all these teams going small while still being able to defend on the perimeter.

It's just a lot easier to build a team that plays small. But I think the league needs a new trend to counterbalance all the pace and space nonsense.

I think your "absolutely ideal world" should be more than Jamychal Green although that's not a back outcome. :) Rosas and Saunders have also both said it's about getting your best players on the floor. So we will see what they are actually beholden to as this plays out. If the Wolves end up with a young big that can actually really play I'm guessing they are gonna have him be out there.

I chose Noah Vonleh purely on being the best fit next to KAT.

He'll help on the boards which was a weakness of ours last year. He can also defend at a decent level including being able to switch on to the perimeter. I also think he can become a better 3 point shooter. He's 250lb but moves quick for his size and has decent length

I agree completely. Vonleh is clearly the best fit next to KAT. This team will really be hurting on the boards if KAT is surrounded in the starting lineup by Teague, Wiggins, Covington and Layman, Culver or Okogie, even though Culver and Okogie are good rebounders for their position.

Just throwing this out there. How different/similar are Thad Young and Robert Covington especially physically and how they profile as PFs?

Saunders said today that it is a strong possibility that Covington starts at the 4. He likes Wiggins at the 2 and Layman and Culver are the frontrunners for starting at the 3 (The last part is media speculation based on what Ryan said today.)

Fine with Covington starting at the 4. We don't have great options anyways. What we do have are essentially unproven players.

However, I would have a big issue with Layman starting over Culver. Layman is not better than him at a single aspect of basketball.

Culver hasn't played 1 game yet. How can you be so sure?

If Culver can't beat out Layman as a rookie he is a bust already.
