It's why his +/- is always so high. He rarely kills you when he's on the court which is something you can't say for most bench players. If we don't get that guard/wing who can create that kind of offense efficiently Tyus just doesn't fit here. You can't play him next to Wiggins and Covington and have a good offense. They just don't have the right combination of ball handling and shot making.

with at least 50+ minutes of floor time together.

tyus, wiggs, cov, taj, and kat unit had a net rtg of +15.5 in 77 minutes together with a 117 oftg

Only one other 5 man group had a better ortg at 120.6 (but the defense was beyond bad 121)

Teague, wiggs, saric, okogie, and kat.

Tyus was also a part of our best defensive group: 92.7 drtg w/ 102 ortg.

Tyus, Okogie, wiggs, saric, and Dieng

77 minutes is a minuscule sample size in the context of a season. That's not even 2 games. That data is pretty much useless with that sample size.

I'm not saying I want them either or realistic. Who would you rather have if money is similar.

Rubio or Tyus

Really like both players personally because they have that pure PG mentality, but both also have similar gaps. That's a tough one. They put up similar advanced stats, but Rubio has done it carrying a heavier load as a multi-season starter. On the other hand, Tyus is still young enough that he could still greatly improve his outside shot, although last year sort of shook my confidence in him. It's toss up to me.

I feel the same you Q you pretty much laid it out. Rubio has doing good things already but...Tyus hasn't done as much but has theoretical potential.

Doing some reading on Rubio this afternoon which brings me to this question. They are obviously different types of players from Rubio and Tyus but same question which would you rather have Teague or Schoder?

For me Teague. I think skill set is similar. Maybe a slight edge to Teague but the thing that puts Teague over the top for me is Teague is considered a great teammate, while Schroder has that I'm the best player on the court vibe what can be good boy but he isn't good enough to have that mentality

Yeah let's sign Rubio, for 3 mil per year. He's always been a great candidate to be a back up point guard.

I'd be happy with offering Jones a 3 year 15 - 18 mil deal. 3rd year player option if necessary. Anything higher would be overpaying. He's still young, has a high basketball IQ and believe he can improve his shooting and defence.

Schroder, and if they threw in Diallo I'd snatch the phone from Rosas and make the deal myself.

Teague v Schroeder? Teague is the better player in my view. Jeff is a better shooter than Dennis and a better teammate. However, Schroeder is 4 years younger than Teague and is probably just entering his prime as he turns 26 in September. Schroeder also has a nastiness or edge in his game that this team probably needs. And I'm concerned about Teague's ability to stay healthy. So it's a tough call. I'd lean slightly towards Schroeder.

Tyus v. Ricky? As you all know, I'm a big Ricky fan. I like his defense and rebounding as well as his playmaking. But his long track record as a starting PG over many years leaves no doubt that he's a bad shooter. He's never been a good 3-point shooter in season for his entire playing career. In contrast. Tyus was a 38% 3-point shooting in his one college season. And he hasn't had a lot of consistent playing time yet in the NBA. I'll refer again to Lowry and Kemba Walker as two PGs who went from bad to very good 3-point shooters suddenly in their 5th seasons. The ability to at least be a 3-point threat as a guard or wing is so important in today's game that I'd take Tyus over Ricky because I think Tyus will be a decent 3-point shooter whereas Ricky has shown definitively that he won't.
