Bolmaro is gonna be stashed and Evans will probably just get waived.

Trading Johnson opens up a spot for Vanderbilt, but I can also see this team making an offer to someone like Mason Plumlee to play alongside KAT and split time with Vanderbilt while McDaniels gets to go to Iowa. There's also bringing back Juancho as an idea.

Realistically our roster is gonna be this

C Towns/Reid
PF Hernangomez/Vanderbilt /McDaniels
SF Edwards /Culver/Layman
SG Russell /Okogie /Nowell
PG Rubio/McLaughlin /Hagans

Under this configuration they just need one more big.

It looks like a roster. 17mil on a pg was not the route I would have gone in constructing this team. We better hope that MLE is attractive to someone who can play.

That PF rotation is one of the most pathetic I've ever seen. And Towns had better stays health because, as much as I like Reid, he's not a guy we should depend on as our sole backup at the 5. I agree that the MLE takes on even more importance after last night's draft. Golden State has to be down about Klay Thompson's recent leg injury. But they should be happy with the Wolves draft last night because Rosas did nothing to reduce the Warriors' chances of getting the Wolves first-round pick next year.

Nothing he did last night was gonna change that.

If that's what it's looking like... I don't see how Culver and/or Okogie won't be put on the table. It's basically a step backwards (or sideways) for last season's #6 draft pick.

I disagree. Wiseman or Okongwu could have provided immediate interior defense and rim protection that the Wolves sorely need next to Towns. Drafting Vassell or Haliburton and Saddiq Bey would have immediately and substantially upgraded the team's 3-point shooting and defense. How much they would have added this next season is open to question, but all of those prospect are widely regarded as guys who are ready to contribute in certain key aspects right away.

Malik Beasley probably returns unless another team makes a crazy offer for him. The Minnesota Timberwolves have extended a qualifying offer to Malik Beasley.

I'm certain no one will make him a crazy offer. He'll be back on a one-year deal at the qualifying offer salary. That's OK. Just make sure you stay away from his house and don't let small children anywhere near him. :) So here's my count of guards on the Wolves roster with Beasley included:

1. Russell
2. Rubio
3. Culver
4. Okogie
5. Nowell
6. Edwards
7. Jacob Evans
8. Malik Beasley

If we sign JMac, the count goes up to 9 with Bolmaro a year away from joining the team. And we have another guard, Hagen, on a two-way. I guess you can view Okogie and Culver as SFs, but that's a stretch given their size. I'm not sure what Rosas is going to do with Evans. I thought last night was the perfect opportunity to deal him as part of trading down to open up a roster spot.

Jeez, that is a nutso amount of guards. The only thing I can think of is they envision going REALLY small and fast for stretches, with KAT or NAZ at the 5 and a bunch of guards at the other four positions.

Small, fast and lots of missed threes. Rosas is brilliant.
