Lol. How could I forget? I should send you a big glossy Vanderbilt poster. :)

Wouldnt it be of him sitting on the bench? All of Q's favorite players seem to have that in common.

Lol. At first I thought that was a low blow, Doper. But then I started to think that keeping Q's favorite players on the bench might be why the Wolves have been so bad all these years. Honestly, who would you trust more - Wolves management or Q??

Vanderbilt, Robbie Hummel and Jeff Adrien are certified Q guys. Rubio will be the leader of q's job squad, who is the 5th q's guy?

Well, given the high bar that I have clearly established with such a distinguished group of players, it has not been easy to find a 5th guy. Let's face it, the Wolves have had only so many Jeff Adrien's grace the Target Center floor. As his parole office once told me, "Jeff fit in really well at Leavenworth and made friends quickly." And that's what reminds me of why he was so great with the Wolves - he was such a people person.

As for Robbie Hummel, if ever there was a second coming of Larry Bird, he was it. Too bad Wolves management never surrounded him with the type of shooters, defenders, passers, cutters, and ball handlers he needed to thrive. Dummies.

Ricky Rubio....I still have a poster of him on the ceiling above my bed. My teenagers find that a little awkward, but I tell them they just don't understand. My wife doesn't seem to bother me about it anymore since she moved to the guest room.

And then there is Jarred Vanderbilt. A bundle of potential I tell you! More than even dear Robbie!

So who will be the 5th? TBD for now.

I think some of your love for hidden gems has rubbed off on me. Jordan McLaughlin was easily one of my favorite players last year and I'd actually be pretty surprised and upset if the Wolves didn't retain him this year.

You're such a good sport q. I made the joke because I knew you could take it and run with it. I wish our team could see a players core skills and build on it for once. It has been disheartening that our lunch bucket players never seem to stay around very long. I, like Cam, hope that can change with our current core of the end of bench players.

What annoys me is that Robert Covington is exactly the kind of player we need to surround Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell with... and Gersson Rosas moved him for entirely replaceable parts. If Rosas felt like Malik Beasley and/or Juan Hernangomez were diamonds in the rough, so to speak, then he could have waited to pursue them in free agency. We can reasonably assume that the Nuggets wouldn't have matched any offer sheets for those two. As it looks now Minnesota might come away with only this 17th overall pick barring it being used in a trade for Aaron Gordon.

I made the same comment when the trade went down. Denver never intended to resign Beasley or Juancho and so all we did was acquire their bird rights. I never wanted to trade Cov. for what we got, and Vanderbilt, the G League star, does not excite me any more than KDB who was given up.

I'm right there with you. I actually think there was a handful of posters on this board that were questioning that trade at the time it went down, especially considering the move for D'Angelo Russell had already been made.

I'm sure Pork Chop has that same poster of Rubio.
