The three major sports teams in Minny, whose made the most moves risky or otherwise? The Vikings. Of the three whose had the most success? The Vikings. God bless them for trying and breaking my heart.
Wild have paid for big free agents and it for the most part failed. Twins spend money on middle tier players and that has failed. We weren't getting horford or Durant so why overspend for middle tier free agents
The Twins would have you believe those were mid tier players. Maybe for them but not for anyone else. The Wolves overspent for Pek, but won't over spend for guys with a legitimate track record?
I will ask again who would you have signed for the price they were given
Think I meantioned Pau, and yes he wants to chase but I would've offered him 15 mil more over the next 2 years than the Spurs and seen how bad he wanted those rings.

Based on the quotes from Thibs and Layden I don't think they want guys that came here because we offered the most money.

Was Rush and Cole getting bigger offers elsewhere?

Well, at least you are diversifying! It's nice to see you have opinions on matters other than Rubio.
I kind of get where you are coming from because I don't think at the start of the offseason anyone would have been high-fiving and back-slapping each other at the thought of adding Aldrich and Rush to the mix (well, except may be Team Ricky, who would have been high-fiving himself for the most part).
Horford and Deng, two guys very much pushed by a number of different posters here, were on their priority list. Horford's wife nixed the idea of playing for Minnesota and we simply got outbid on Deng. The question is how much are you willing to potentially constrain our ability to keep our current core in tact in order to bring in a guy like Deng? It's not like our front office just threw up their hands and never even tried.

To be honest I would have been thrilled if you told me we got Aldrich and Rush for the deals they got even if that's all we did in FA. I had realistic goals but I also thought solid depth guys will really help this team.

Well if I had to guess they went to where the most money was offered .

Yeah, I'm fine with the signings and feel like they can help, but I was hoping we just might be able to land one of the bigger fish.
