I would assume Durant comes back at about 80% No way he is 100% If Kobe can't come back at 100% I don't' see anyone ever doing it in this era.

Taking health 100% out of the equation and just focusing on when they are on the court:
1. KD
2. AD
3. Kawhi
4. Giannis
5. Lebron
KD was the best player in the world before he got hurt. He destroyed the Raptors in his 11 minute stint against Kawhi in his first game off an injury and not having played in a couple weeks. AD destroyed the Warriors 2 years ago in the playoffs and they just had nothing for him. He had no help so they lost, but he was a one man wrecking crew that gave one of the best teams of all time fits. Kawhi just won a title gutting out multiple games while clearly hobbled and with some games having nobody else show up. Giannis is Shaq with a handle. His major drawback to not being higher is just his lack of shooting really keeps him a class behind KD and Kawhi and he's not AD level dominant on both ends of the floor. Lebron at 5 because he's still a great player who just can't bring it for 36 minutes a night on both ends any more. He still warps successful teams around his presence when he plays.

Was part of the reason that team was disappointing was Lebron himself? Sure but they had a lot of guys not playing AND it was a flawed team from the beginning which has nothing to do with LeBron...the player. Both LeBron and Durant have some issues playing D in the regular season.
If someone wants to say AD is a top 5 player that's fine with me. That not really something I would get too wound up about especially if is SAS. Lol
Having said lol that I like the 4 guys lip put at the top. I think sometimes Curry gets oddly underrated at times. If you have any of the guys mentioned in this thread on your team you are pretty damn thrilled. I really think Towns is gonna really insert himself into that conversation this year. It's a fun league.
Read my post again. My caveat for rating Durant #5 was an assumption that he comes back 100% from his Achilles surgery. I'm not predicting he will. There's no way to predict whether or how much Durant's game will decline as a result of his injury. If not, then he'd drop out of my top 5. I'm basing my rankings entirely on their track records, giving more weight to recent performance.
As I said I may have underrated LeBron a bit. If you drop Durant out of the top 5, I could see putting LeBron at #5 ahead of Westbrook and George, but I wouldn't rank him any higher than that.
Putting AD in the top 5 is ridiculous. He's more over-rated than Curry is under-rated. I'm totally wound up over a top 5 rank for him. ;)
I get what you are saying. Read my post again :) I was just saying I don't think KD comes back 100% this year. Hell if KD comes back 100% of what he was then you putting him only #5 is something I would probably argue with you about!!! Lol Just having fun here but seriously Durant As others have said here is a hell of a player. I think if guys are healthy there are at least 3 guys that someone can make a VERY legit case are the best player in the world.
AD at #5 guy isn't something I would agree with but he is a guy that I don't really think we know who he really is yet because of injuries age him being a big and what surrounded him. I wonder if he is really more of a hell of a number 2 guy on a championship team. As I have said I've seen him more than one game look like he wasn't really a guy that was going full bore competing. Regardless of healthy AD and Lebron is a hell of a pairing and they have some guys surrounding them that may actually make some sense. I think AD and Lebron might actually be quite complimentary to each other's game and to some extent even though they are on the Lakers I hope that happens. I won't be disappointed if the Lakers whole thing falls apart though. Also did anyone else find it interesting that Jerry west's son left the team? It sounded like he was one of their smart people that had been helping them find some worthwhile players in the later rounds etc. Has he landed with another organization yet?

That injury knocks him out of the top 10 for me. It will be interesting how he comes back.
My top 5 for 2020
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. LeBron James
3. Kawhi Leonard
4. James Harden
5. Stephen Curry
I am really excited to see hat Curry does. He can carry or defer on a superstar team, but now he will be carrying the whole team. I think he can do it for spurts, but can he do it for a season?
IMO Curry is gonna put up some absolutely massive numbers. Russell is probably gonna put up some pretty gaudy numbers too. It will be interesting to see if they have enough around them to keep the thing afloat.

I agree. I just am not sure how he will physically hold up.

Lebron played the lowest minutes of his career last year. Avg 27.5 8.5 8.3 I just don't see the decline yet.

His rebound rate, steal rate, block rate, FT%, 2ptFG%, and 3PTFG% were down across the board on a per minute/per possession basis. It was nothing drastic and peak LeBron was so damn good that even "LeBron in Year 2 of Decline" is a top 10 player. But I believe it's happening.

Obviously Lebron is older but I believe his efficiency dipped every other time he switched teams. Note that his 2 point percentage dropped but he took the most 3's of his career last year which he shot them at a lower percentage and that brought his FG% down to a measly 50% range...still pretty good for a perimeter player in a down year. I would not be shocked if Lebron comes back and has another hell of a season. If it made sense he would have played in more games and they would have won another chunk of games but...that didn't make any sense and I'm not knocking anyone just saying. It's also possible Lebron is declining but I think that it's still a few years away. I'm not even a big Lebron guy but I want to see him at his peak for a few more years yet. Give these young dudes something to chase not just now but in terms of what Lebron accomplished over a hell of a career.

I'll put Towns at #15 and our "#2" Wiggins in the top 500.
