If only Wiggins had more rebounds tonight.

The only positive is I shouldn't have to listen to LST complaining the bench should have seen more minutes!
Apparently, a Portland win tonight officially eliminates the Wolves from the playoffs. So much for that playoff push.
Nope, you won't hear me talking about Thibs' rotations tonight...he's finally won me over and I'm convinced he is clearly the best coach in the league. I'm a little embarrassed it took me so long to recognize it. Sure, tonight he played his bench only 65 minutes compared to Sac-town's 114, but that formula has been working so well all season, there's no reason to change it now. Some may say grinding his starters into the ground leaves them with nothing in the tank late in games and late in the season, but I say BS. Anyone can see that our young Timberpups are not tired, and are playing spirited excellent defense the past couple weeks, and especially tonight. We just can't expect our young players to compete with veteran teams that know how to win, and a team starting grizzled veterans like Labisierre, Cauley-Stein, Collison, McLemore and Hield is usually going to beat our inexperienced team no matter how superior Thibs' coaching is.
Yes, I've finally come around in the past two weeks and recognized Thibs' brilliance...he's playing chess out there while every other coach is playing checkers. He's already eclipsed the win total from last season, and there are still games to play...I don't hear anyone talking about that. And nobody is talking about the record-setting number of double-digit leads turned into defeats that he has led this team to...it takes a heck of a coach to build those double digit leads, and we were privileged to watch yet another example last night against a superior team.
If Thibs keeps coaching like he is, I see no reason he can't build on this year's success and win 35 games next year. He has clearly figured out the secret sauce of winning coaching...continue to play his bench far less minutes than any other coach in the league. The only potential barrier to our winning 35 games next year is that other coaches may catch on to what Thibs is doing, and copy his brilliant rotations. Let's hope that doesn't happen, and Thibs can continue next year's Drive for 35!!!!!!!!!!!

Payne comes in and 10-0 run in 1 minute with 2 blocks a rebound and a back tap leading to a wiggins 3.
Good for you payne
I only saw the end of the game, but I agree Payne was fun to watch. Yes, he's unorthodox and maddening at times, but he does consistently bring energy. He really wasn't that much different at MSU, when he was a candidate for Big Ten POY his senior year. There's not much to cheer for the rest of the season, so maybe it would be fun to see Payne get some minutes.
I didn't see most of the game, so I'm going to take your word that KAT was terrible on defense and needed to be benched. I love KAT and note that again he put up good offensive numbers, but if his defense continues to hurt us, I agree that Thibs needs to show some tough love and sit his ass down (although he still played 40 minutes!). He's a good kid and enormously talented, but Thibs can't afford to let him get complacent...make him earn his minutes at both ends of the court.

LOL, LST!
I actually agree with you that Thibs needs to figure out how to rely on his bench more. But if you were able to watch our bench play in the first half, you would understand why they didn't deserve any more minutes last night...
I know you have never fully embraced the Thibs hire. While disappointed in this season, I am not off the Thibs bandwagon, yet. I can accept that this year is a "learning" year. Everyone deserves blame for the failures this season. But now they have an offseason to address their weaknesses, including the GM and his roster, the coach, and the players that will be here next year.

But towns yelled and put both hands up in frustration because Dunn "took" a rebound away from him. That scares the shit out of me going forward
I didn't see that Kek, but I agree it's a bit scary. Winning needs to be the only priority, and I would think Towns would get that. I also heard him call off Wiggins on one rebound that was probably more Andrew's than his. But the biggest concern is his indifference on the defensive end. He truly doesn't play nearly as hard on that end of the floor.

Damn, Rubio sucks again. I wonder if the Knicks will still trade us the once again out for the season Rose straight up for Rubio?

LST are you seriously getting on Thibs for not playing his bench more? I don't know why you say this after games you don't even watch the vast majority of but if he would have played them any more we would have lost by 10-15. I don't know what you've been watching to make you think we have some kind of secret weapon coming off the bench that Thibs needs to utilize more, yes the starters need to play less minutes but then we would have more losses which you would also blame Thibs for

That was terrible.
And it could have been worse. The Kings bench shot 21 - 37 fg. And some of those guys are at the very end of the bench usually... and only played because 2 or 3 other guys were sitting out.
The Timberwolves are now tied for wins with one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league who traded its star player weeks ago. yes!

Did you end up getting tickets to this game? Part of me hopes you did and part of me hopes you didn't if you know what I mean.

Best post of the year. I was a little skeptical when Bloops called Thibs "Coach of the Year" but I am starting to come around too. Perhaps, we need to lock him up before San Antonio decides they need a coaching upgrade.
