Really good to hear from you, Lip, and I hope you stick around during what could be an interesting last month of the season. This board is always good, but you and Cam both being out for the past month does leave a hole. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed last night's blowout as much as Hicks and I did.

I couldn't agree more about your comment about Thibs...the entire team just seems more joyful these days, and his more positive attitude might be a contributing factor. But man, his constant harassing of the officials really gets old...Thibs has never agreed with any call against his team.

There was a funny moment in the 4th quarter last night...at least funny for my son and me. I don't know if you noticed it. There was a time out and the Timberwolves dancers were on the court. And Thibs was berating someone on the other side of the court. My son said "Dad, there's no referee in the direction he's yelling...I think he's yelling at one of the dancers!". I looked, and he was right...there didn't appear to be a target for Thibs' tirade. The rest of the time out we cracked each other up (and most of our section too!) making up things he might have been yelling at the girls!

A lot easier to laugh when you have the Clippers down by 20...

Edit: I'm going to go out on a limb and make a daring double prediction. If the Wolves beat the Warriors tomorrow night, we will see the return of both Lip's game report and Cool's 2+1...come on, make it happen!

Good point, and what the heck is up with Cam disappearing again?

I hope Cam comes back for talk about college basketball and draft discussions. I really value his thoughts on various players. It's probably good to take some time off. There have been some chunks of this season it may have been better to just take a break. Lol

Regarding Rubio, I still believe Thibs is going to move him this offseason. In fact I think the odds are increased by how Rubio is playing as it should help create a better return. I'm not saying I agree with it or not, I just feel like he doesn't see Rubio as his kind of PG.

I wouldn't bet you on that SP. I think it's clear that Thibs has been entertaining offers for Ricky, but I think it's equally clear Thibs is content to keep him unless he gets the right offer as evidenced by the fact he hasn't dealt him yet. And that's before Ricky really stepped up his game, including his shooting. Given Ricky's team-first approach to the game and his relatively reasonable contract, I could easily see Thibs keeping Ricky for the remaining two years of his contract and perhaps beyond. But like you, I could easily see him moving Ricky this summer. Moving him might make sense, but as we all know it depends on what we get in return. IF nothing else, Ricky has certainly driven up his trade value the past few weeks. Could be an interesting summer.

What a difference a couple months makes. It wasn't that long ago even the Rubio fans were down on him and now...he is sitting on a career year after really poor start. The value Thibs and Layden have on Rubio is probably going up every game. My guess is that both guys have always seen his value to some extent but based on some of his comments about PGs I think Layden probably valued him more. Now that Thibs has been coaching him and seen him play well...he has probably put a higher value on him too especially since Dunn hasn't exactly blown anyone away...offensively. Defensively...yikes man the guy is a beast. Imagine when he gets a year or so of experience under him.

Anyway long story short the Wolves haven't had interest in giving Rubio away and the price keeps going up. If teams want him they are going to have to bring something good or they will just keep him and can easily afford to do so. Rubio the guy doesn't seem to have any interest in leaving so yeah...unless someone offers up a legit player/players or some really enticing draft picks (not sure they would just go for draft picks with a young team they want to win sooner rather than later) it's really quite possible he is a Wolf for another season. I won't be shocked either way.

Me too! I'll be at the game. If we win, the first thing I expect to read when I get back will be Cool's 2+1. Then I'll hold up my end with a game report.

LST - I definitely noticed the moment you're referring to. It was weird. I asked the guy next to me who Thibs was yelling at because I didn't see an official in the vicinity. He didn't see one either but we both laughed and assumed an official must have been somewhere near the area Thibs was shouting at. My wife hates Thibs' constant berating of the officials. But I kind of like it. :) As you know, I was initially put off by Thibs' antics, but somehow he's grown on me. He's sort of the anti-Rambis. And that's a good thing.

The thing is I literally worry about the man's health. It looks like he could succumb to a heart attack at any minute. And he's not exactly in the greatest shape. My guess is he isn't a vegan either....

I do like the fact our team is starting to take on his blue-collar persona though. Perhaps some day guys like Wig and KAT will look back with fondness at having to go through the crucible of Thibs' coaching and coming out the other end as grown men that can play on both sides of the ball.
