I think they're a year or two away yet . The fun thing about this year will be a lot like KGS first couple years . Following Towns when he's on the court. Hoping he touches the ball on every offensive series and thinking hell do something special at any moment. Wins aside having a shiny new toy like him makes every game enjoyable. I love having winning teams but having a great player to watch makes me tune in every night.

You can't, or shouldn't, deem them any less than that unless they lose a significant part of their nucleus, and neither team has as they've actually added talent. Have to give the teams that have been there consistently the respect they deserve.
I'm guessing you're probably right about Houston too, but if they lay another egg tomorrow night in Miami to join the Pelicans at 0-3, we may have to start wondering if there is trouble in paradise.

I know its not my place to judge, but I think it was very strange of him not to attend the funeral. I know there have been rumors over the years of a strained relationship, but neither seems to be the type to hold a grudge. They've known each other for 40 years. And McHale spoke so fondly of Flip in all of his radio appearances last week. Flip basically took the bumpkin from Hibbing under his wing and made him feel comfortable right from the start...took him fishing! Like I said, Wittman made it to the funeral on a game day, and Kevin would have just been missing a practice. It's one of the reasons I wonder if "Houston, we have a problem".

In that interview Kevin did he said he would meet with the family later as he didn't want his presence to be a distraction. I think they did reconnect, but clearly the friendship was still strained. I just don't believe he would have skipped it if he didn't believe it was the right thing to do out of respect to Flip and his family.
