The Utah Jazz are still waiting to be told of Gordon Hayward's intentions, league source tells ESPN. Hayward hasn't told them his plans yet.

Okay. Strap in. Told by a source w/knowledge of the process that Gordon Hayward has NOT made a decision yet & is still in the process. FWIW.
Lol, hope Boston fans didn't light off everything prematurely. How fitting would it be for them to watch Ainge sit on his hands in the case of Butler and George, hear a report that it was the right move as Hayward did indeed come, only to have him pull a Deandre Jordan and go back to Utah.
Love Boston, but still.

Gordon Hayward's agent, Mark Bartelstein, tells ESPN: "Gordon hasn't made a decision yet. We are still working through it."
WHAT?!?! Whoops! Somebody screwed this one up!

Boston would need to make some moves to open the space to sign Hayward. I would love to give them the OKC pick for someone like a Rozier.

I was excited before reading the Woj and Aldridge reports. Please, Gordon, don't fall prey to any last-minute emotional appeals from your pal Ingles or your new friend Ricky! Go to Boston and help the Celtics challenge the Cavs for the Eastern Conference title.

OK, that's what Gordon's agent meant by "still working through it." Currently, Boston can't extend a contract offer without a number of transactions to clear additional cap space. I'd love to help out the Celtics by using our remaining $3-4 million cap space to take Rozier off their books. This is when I'd like to have Ainge's old buddy McHale back with the Wolves organization. :)

NO! NO! Stay and help Ricky!

I would give up the pick for Smart, less inclined to for Rozier.

Me too, Future. But I don't think we have the cap room to take on Smart's $4.5 million salary next season. I'm not sure exactly how much cap room we have now, but based on what I've seen, it's south of $4 million even after renouncing Bazz. So Rozier is the next best thing. He's young, strong and has 2 years left on a very cheap rookie deal. Thibs and Layden better be all over this one. I think we have a second round pick next year (now our own) that we could give in return.

But do you really think Thibs is going to add anything other than a grizzled vet?
I expect the focus to be completely on flushing out the "rotation" roster, which likely means a backup PG and two wings. Maybe after that is complete he will ponder how to add depth to the roster.

He better be.... if Thibs is only looking at older vets he is screwing our future. He has already jettisoned 4 of our young guys (Rubio is only 26). We need to fill the roster with a mix of vets and young talents that can still develop/improve. Otherwise we will go through this 2 year vet experiment and be left with little to no young talent outside of Kat, Wiggins and Patton. Then we will be left trying to reload in free agency once again IF we have much cap left over after Kat/Wiggins extensions and Butler if he stays.
