I'd take that bet. Rubio has had two injuries in his career. One of which spanned two seasons and after which he didn't miss a game for 1-1/2 seasons. Assuming there is no permanent damage from last seasons injury there is no reason to expect him to miss any more games than your typical 24 year old NBA player.

I actually see some truth in both of your themes. As TRKO says, we need a healthy Rubio to compete...I think that is indisputable. But I agree with O that Rubio's two big injuries have been freakish, not chronic. Law of averages tells me he plays 70+ games this year.
We had a little fun with this stat, but I need to correct the record. While it's true that the Wolves play much better with Ricky on the court, they actually won 9 games with him out and 7 games with him playing.

Hmmm. Where are we off LST? I pulled that from Real GM:
when Ricky was playing, it was pretty much the only time where the Wolves had a full roster. Rubio never played when there was someone else major injured. So there's your explanation
Crap. Just found my error. Real GM defaults to game logs to include preseason. I'm more embarrassed than Norwood Teague after a night of drinking. My apologies.

Ha...nice Teague reference!
Yes, you found your error, but in a way it also highlights the importance of Ricky on the court. Even though it was only pre-season, the Wolves went 5-1 with Ricky playing all 6 games, and the only loss was the one game he missed.
The point remains the same...we're not a good team with Rubio out.

Wolves haven't exactly been a good team with Rubio in either
