Is there another young player anyone on this board would trade KAT for? Given the building state of the Wolves I cannot think of a better player around whom to build!

Only if you consider Curry a young player.

I wouldn't trade Towns for Curry either. Nope.

Really? Because of Curry's age, ankles?

Towns is 20-years old and producing All-NBA numbers already. He still has nuances of the game to learn, especially on defense, but I expect him to be insanely good -- great -- for at least a decade. That's more important to me.

Also, while I truly do appreciate Curry's game and the impact he makes, I don't see him as the type of talent that can win with just anyone around him. I think you have to build around Curry in a more specific way than you do with Towns.

That'd be LeBron James... But I think I've had that discussion on this board already. Don't really feel like re-explaining myself. Curry's fantastic and likely will go down as the best shooter the game's ever seen. I'm still not trading 20-year old Towns for him.

You don't need to because you would be wrong. I just think your take is somewhat myopic.

It's subjective and I realize my opinion on that is less than popular, but I'm glad you feel that way. Thanks for sharing.

I probably agreed with you in that previous thread. But things have changed this year. Lebron's outside shot has failed him and Curry is having one of the best seasons of all time. He will win the MVP again. Two straight MVP's is good enough for me to change my mind.

Ehh... I agree that Curry deserves the MVP award this year because of the sheer numbers he's putting up and the team's record. They're stupid (good). He's shattering his own records, scoring at will from everywhere and his team has lost a total of six times. That's more than enough to get you an MVP trophy.

But... I don't think back-to-back MVP awards means you're automatically the best player in the world. I think it goes beyond that, and you're allowed to disagree by all means. For instance, was Steve Nash the best player in the world when he won MVP in 06 after winning in 05? I don't think so and I say that as a huge Nash fan.

Nash never won a title though.....

I have to admit, it was pretty fun seeing Curry and Thompson miss so many damn shots today. They were something like 1-18 from 3. I'd love to think that their total reliance on the 3-ball would backfire at some point in the playoffs like it did today, but I just can't see them going cold like that beyond just a game or two.

I suppose it doesn't automatically mean you're the best. But in this case I think it's an accurate measure of who is.
