The issues in Cleveland with Blatt ran deep and weren't just with LeBron, though James obviously didn't connect with him.

The spin cycle is in full swing. After all, James has a new reality show coming out soon where he helps people. He's a good guy! Honest! Everybody loves him! Really!!!

Yeah this stinks. ESPN has been preempting this talking about his philantrophy and activism for a month. It does all seem calculated and staged like most of the stuff with Lebron. I can't breathe from trying to swallow this one. Maybe Love got him fired though.

I'm sure no matter the reasons there will be spin even if Lue was flat out the better man for the job. I'll say this though Aldridge is an NBA media guy I have alot of respect for. If he says something like its fact it's pretty likely it's real. He specifies when he offering possible explanations of how things went down.

They're already covering that angle too...

Peter Vecsey wrote something like "It was either Blatt or Love." So, now if the Cavs fail to win a title... Love gets the blame.

Brilliant PR in the works in R. Paul's office.

I've been a big fan of Aldridge for quite awhile. But he's a legit reporter. So, he's going to go with what he's told vs. what he thinks, right?

My only point was I have a lot more faith in what he has to say than the other narratives that are out there. He works for TBS TNT and they aren't quite the scoop machine the other media outlets are. I'm sure he gets used at times as well reporting what he is told but I think he takes a lot more care with his info than most.

Of course ultimately I don't really care much about this whole spin or whatever happens...unless Blatt either is a top option for the coach here or ends up as the coach here. Then I will care. I'd probably rather go with a young guy I'm not sure the risk is that much higher of them being bad but I don't ink it's more than a little tricky evaluating him based on a year and a half with the Cavs.

By the way, here's Aldridge's latest:

"The issues in Cleveland with Blatt ran deep and weren;t just with LeBron, though James obviously didn't connect with him."

Yikes. So James gets to influence coaching decisions beyond just Cleveland.

[Note: Not saying I want Blatt... just saying James' fingerprints are all over the place.]

James is probably the second best player of all-time. Don't you think it's a red flag that he couldn't put up with Blatt for more than 1.5 seasons? He could've dumped Spoelstra, but didn't and Spoelstra was in a very similar situation in terms of being a new and learning NBA coach.

No. For all we know, Riley might very well have squashed any talk of firing Spoelstra. Who's in charge of the Cavs organization? It certainly isn't anybody with as much clout and respectability as Pat Riley. You better believe that James arrived there with a few conditions in place...

Any claims that James didn't know are pure PR fluff. That's not how the NBA works and that's not how the Cavs have been working.

I don't see how this makes James a bad guy or a dumb move even if it came out James wanted him gone. Of course you pick Lebron James over Blatt. Duh. If he doesn't like the guy you don't tell maybe the best player of all time to keep his mouth shut

Lebron is a primadonna egomaniac who left a great situation in Miami because Riley ruled with tight grip and didn't let him do his own thing. He effed up leaving Wade and Bosh for 2 losers in Irving and Love and won't sniff a championship with Warriors and Spurs running strong. Blatt or Lue it doesn't matter.

Spurs were too dominant in that finals. I bet they would have swept Lebron if had his Cavs crew with him in the finals.
While Warriors last year clearly lacked finals experience and it showed. This year's Warriors will be much more dominant in the finals if they make it past the Spurs.
