I like cools choice but I'll chip in with something less clever, "Hassan Whiteside is a whiny bitch"

I know it's just a pre-season game, but I'm not going to call it meaningless. They have been working out with thibs for almost a month now (although "officially" only for just over a week), and I think we will learn a lot tonight about the "Thibs effect". I don't think Miami is very good, and I want to see a decisive win tonight.

The gal is out tonight, so I'm going to watch the remarkable Kyle Hendricks against the Giants while trying to follow the wolves online any way I can. Here's what I want to see:

1) true evidence that thibs' message about narrowing the 3-point gap is being heard and acted on...we need to shoot more 3's than the Heat. KAT was apparently bombing and making from long-range yesterday in practice, so I'd love to see him drawing whiteside away from the basket.

2) the Euro and late season Belly, rather than the early season version

3) Big games and improvement from our young big 3.

Here's what I"m curious about:

1) How is Thibs going to use Dunn? It sounds like he sees him as the backup PG (with Rush backing up Zach at the 2), but I am on record as preferring Tyus at PG and Dunn at the 2. If Rush shows he's ready to be a big-time 3-point shooter off the bench and Dunn shows me more than I saw in college at the point, I'm happy to relegate Tyus to the bench. But I'm skeptical about both those things happening.

2) Shabazz. Nobody has been more excited about the Thibs effect on his game. Talk is cheap...show us.

I was excited for this game even before recent news made me desperate to take my mind off politics.

In terms of what I want to see: defense. This usually takes time, so I'm not expecting perfection. And it's the first preseason game, so the guys will probably be making all out effort. But I want to see that effort sustained and applied toward a smarter, more focused team defense in general, especially keeping other guys off the 3 point line as you mention.

As far as the 2 things you're curious about, LST, I agree, and I think they're going to impact each other. The Dunn/Tyus thing is going to be interesting this year. They both definitely look like they deserve minutes, which would mean lots of Dunn at the 2, but that will mean taking minutes away from Bazz and Rush, and would probably make it more likely to put Rush out there for the 3 for three point shooting, so Bazz could end up feeling pretty pinched. It's a shame because I'm also interested in seeing if he can back up his praise for Thibs, and of course, this is a contract year for him--he's going to be out to prove something. I expect we'll also see slightly limited minutes for Rubio to make a little more breathing room on this issue, especially in the preseason.

Let's do it!

And it doesn't start until 8:30 eastern. Haha. They'll make us wait another hour and a half.

Man you are asking a lot from one preseason game that you are gonna at most listen to on the radio and look at the box score. :)

Nope...tried both the links crazysauce supplied above, but neither worked. I heard that it's not being televised in either Miami or Minnesota, so I was skeptical there would be a stream anywhere.
