Lip--- I recall Flip wondering out loud whether the frequency of injuries the last 5 years or so years is the result of overtraining.
Listening to "In the Zone", apparently Simmons went from 215 to about 250 thanks to the weight room. That may have been too much?

Simmons' agent wants him to sit out all year. Ha, the Sixers are hilarious. You can't make this stuff up.

I'm beginning to think our 12 years in the desert were less painful than the 76ers past three or four!

Back to Simmons agent wanting him to sit out all year. Well there is no reason for him to rush back. I mean if they guy is completely healthy yeah sure let him play but he is already getting paid and why not be sure the guy is healthy and doesn't have another problem? It could also benefit the Sixers in some ways because they can keep playing all their 35 PF/C and figure out who to keep and who to move. Heck they have some decent youngish bench guys that you wonder will play much even with Simmons hurt.
The Sixers injuries and picking high kinda reminds me a bit of the Lynx it seemed they would get a talented player and then bam they would tear up a knee or something. Eventually it paid off and they ended up with a stud team but I also think Reeve was a pretty big factor though too.

I wouldn't rush him back in anyway. I am sure adding 30+ lbs to his frame didn't help. The last thing you want is this to be a reoccurring issue.
