More seriously though Drew nailed it with Towns versatility and it doesn't matter who's next to him. So in general I'd go with the most skilled player overall and not necessarily a specific type of player (offensive, defensive, PF, or C etc).
Right, that would be the big guns like Horford, Favors, and Milsap. Or even Deng if you think the majority of his time will be a 4.
But what if the big guns aren't available to us or we can't make anything work? What about Noel vs. Okafor? I could argue both are equally skilled. Who do you pick? I pick Noel because defense is my litmus test. The guy has to be able to be a plus defender.
I love Towns just as much as everyone else, but let's not expect a HUUGE jump in production next year. I don't like seeing him carry so much weight so early in his career

I have to be honest I haven't really watched any sixers games so I have a tough time making this decision. That said I'd go with Okafor almost exclusively because of his contract although I'd also give him a slight edge in talent as well.
I still think we need to aggressively pursue Cousins. He would be such an amazing compliment to Towns. You get those two with wiggins and lavine at the wings and Rubio setting them up and you have poetry in motion. Sign Bazemore as well.

I'm absolutely on board with Boogie. Watching the AllStar weekend dunk contest was fun because it actually looked like DeMarco and Wiggins and KAT all were happy homies watching LaVine! I just wouldn't have a clue what and who we would have to offer to get him. THOUGHTS?
I would be all for Boogie and Bazemore or Crabbe on this squad. Perhaps get a late First and get McCaw for PG/SG with a Shabazz trade.

Cousins is a tremendous talent, but I want no part of him until the team has a strong enough pecking order and culture to handle his personality.

I too think that many bigs would be good fit next to Towns. Problem is that since our current future starting five has two pretty bad three point shooters in Rubio and Wiggins, we need other big to have at least some range to maintain the offense efficiency level seen in the end of this season.
I think offensively Bjelica might be pretty perfect fit to line-up of Rubio, Lavine, Wiggins and Towns. Since there is already three big scorers, I think that line-up doesn't need fourth high usage player. Bjelica would have range to draw also other opponent big outside of paint to open it for Wiggins' drives. He also doesn't typically try to do too much and moves the ball effectively. Both attributes that would improve our offense.
Problem is that he gets pushed too much in defense and got way too many fouls. If Thibbs can improve his defense enough, I would like to see him getting more minutes with our four best players even if he would be still coming from bench.

The post-all star game Belly is a very good fit next to KAT, especially if Thibs goes out and gets a solid SF defender like Deng. If those last 15-20 games were not a mirage, I think we could have our answer at PF...IF. Yes, the fouling is an issue, but to the best of my knowledge, he didn't have a reputation as a fouler in Europe. He clearly had a difficult time adjusting to the referees in the NBA, but he is a savvy player, and I see no reason he can't change his style of play to avoid fouls if Thibs needs him for 30+ minutes per game.
