Butler has played five seasons and only played a full season once. The other 4 seasons he played 42, 67, 65 and 67 games. I don't think we should overhaul our roster for Butler even though he's a top 25 player. If we want to add a star player, I wish we would try using free agency first.

This is fantastic news. Now we have an idea how the Wolves value the pick. The worst thing the team could do is trade the pick for the sake of acquiring "a vet". It is comforting to know the pick would only be sent to acquire a serious talent.

This ought to scare every Wolves fan. And yes, why give up key assets when we can sign a FA? Would I like to have Butler? Hek yeah!! Is he worth tearing down our roster for at this point? No.

A Butler trade isn't happening. There's no way the Wolves are giving up #5 and Wiggins and little chance they give up #5 and LaVine. Plus, Boston is star searching. Wouldn't they offer #3 and Avery Bradley to trump the Wolves?

Chicago won't help their old coach at his new gig in his first year.

Yeah, not sure what Thibs is thinking here unless he feels like floating it out there, as he sees a vulnerable team in Chicago that might want to shake things up and re-boot without us having to give up much more than #5. But I figured Butler would be the centerpiece of that re-boot if there was any since he's still reasonably young. I agree with Cam - I don't think this goes anywhere.

Yeah, #5 and Wiggins would be a ridiculous overpay - Chicago would do that in a heartbeat. Is anyone credible actually speculating that?

I heard a Chicago writer say #5 and Wiggins would be the starting point for negotiations. I believe they would take less than that, but if that really is the case this is a waste of time.

What about the following:

Bulls get: #3 2016 (BOS) / Amir Johnson / Muhammad / J. Mickey / #23 2016 (BOS)

Celtics get: #5 2016 (MN) / J. Butler

MN gets: J. Crowder / B. Portis / #16 2016 (BOS)

Love that trade if I'm a Celtic fan
