I think there has got to be a bigger story here, I think a good journalist would have gotten to this before the ranting and raving that is going on now. You don't do what Russel did for no reason, and certainly not to someone you like. Swaggy P must be a bigger dick than just for his cheating. Would love to know what he did to Russell to reap that.

Wait, I also HATE Swaggy P as well, so maybe this just feels like a great case of Karma to me. Just needed to get that out there.

And the alienation by everyone around Russell quietly announces that many of those other guys are probably carrying around the same lies and lifestyle. Am I surprised? Not in the least. But I love to see a guy like Swaggy P burn a bit for something so stupid. If he is going to be a complete jackass, you better be quiet about it.

I have no issues with Russell for this incident, and would do the Lakers a favor and take him off their hands.

Yeah, tough to feel sorry for Swaggy P. It's also tough to feel sorry for Iggy Azalea. She knew damn well what she was doing by hooking up with this clown.

I agree with every word of this. I can't stand Stephen A. Smith or Nick Young (I refuse to call him by that dumbass nickname). The truth always comes out sooner or later. I think Russell made a mistake by videoing a teammate confessing some secrets, but in no way do I think he should be crucified for it. Wouldn't be surprised if Young had done something to Russell and this was the retaliation. In any case, fuck the Lakers and I hope this story ruins their young nucleus moving forward.

ESPN did say that the rumor was this was a prank gone wrong because Young was constantlay pranking Russell.

I have no doubt that Kevin Garnett's intensity can be a pain sometime, but pranks don't happen when he is around.

To me this an indictment on the maturity level of each player. I'm not going to defend either one.

The only reason I like calling Nick Young Swaggy Pis because it seems to bring along the idea of what kind of ridiculous dude he is...at least that's how it comes across to me. Lol

How likes Nick Young? Everyone probably k led that and so it's easy to gloss over the obvious. What Russell did was dumb and probably wrong but yeah Young should be getting roasted too.

For the Lakers the bottom line is whether Russell grows up and learns from this and if some guys move past it. Really if I am the lakers the only guys I care about moving past or are Julius Randle Jordan Clarkson and any other worthwhile young players. If the vets don't like it screw them most of them will either be gone after this season or you could move them to somewhere else. I would think there should be a little concern about Russell though he had a bit of a confidence attitude you either liked or didn't like. I doubt the Lakers are gonna trade him for pennies on the dollar at this point.

From what I've read on the Lakers board and from reading many tweets of pro athletes, this is not going away anytime soon. He's going to be viewed as a pariah for a long time and it will definitely affect free agents. I'm glad the Lakers have to deal with him. I never cared for his bragging (e.g. I wear 0 because nobody can defend me and I'm the best player in the draft) and after sneakily and deliberately taping a very personal conversation and allowing it to get on the internet, he's a total douchebag in my opinion, who I would never want to see in a Wolves uniform. I'd take Larry Sanders before I'd take him and Larry would cost us nothing.

People always say "this won't go away" or "we'll remember this for a while!" That isn't true. As long as Russell's balling out, he'll be a fan favorite regardless of his off-the-court antics, and this one in particular isn't even a huge deal. Take Kobe for instance. Not only did he have the widely talked about rape scandal, but he snitched or talked shit about Shaq back in 2004 after they had already been traded. Something about women and paying hush money up to about a million dollars. Guess what? At the end of the day, most fans only care about the player in the uniform repping their favorite team. As long as he keeps playing well, he'll be fine.

As for his comments pre-draft, what's the problem? That type of confidence/cockiness is pretty necessary to be a great player. LaVine's just as, if not more, cocky. Towns has talked about feeling like he should make every shot he takes. Remember before All-Star weekend he was acting as if the Skills Challenge was "light work" aka easy, no problem. You can't have a problem with Russell's cockiness and then love LaVine and Towns for pretty much the same thing.

Lastly, you'd rather have a 27-year old that hasn't played a full season in the NBA since 2012 (three years) and ultimately quit on the game itself over a 20-year old likely to be named 1st Team All-Rookie? Well, that's just puzzling.

You mean 2nd team all rookie :) but I agree 100% with you. Would try to get him cheap. (1st round pick)

Great players talk with their game not their mouths. Most of the great ones never make ridiculous boasts like Russell did. Last time we had a ridiculous boaster was McCants. Never cared for that dude. I have never heard LaVine make a ridiculous boast so I'm not sure what your hinting at. If he said he was the best dunker, that's a fact. Russell's talk is straight BS just to inflate his fragile ego. He is very guardable. He shot below 40% against ranked schools and is shooting between 41-42% in the NBA. And he's slow. Best in his draft class--that's complete BS too.

I don't think Russell's action's will soon be forgotten. He's always going to be viewed as the Snitch and some players may get over it and some will always hold it against him.

I'm making a point in that Larry Sanders didn't f*ck with other's lives like Snitch Russell and the other point is signing Larry won't cost anything. Lakers will still demand a ransom for their Snitch and we shouldn't be interested.
