Re: Bojan Dubljevic
I like the idea of young euro vets filling out this roster. I will be the first to say I am wrong about Hummel and miss having a guy that just doesn't kill us when on the court. We need guys like that on this team to fill out the roster around our young studs. I think Belly and Dubljevic could do that.
Re: Bojan Dubljevic
Dubs is a very different player than Belly. He is a strong lost post type player that also happens to hit 3's. He is a scorer and very efficient. I would imagine him being able to play defensively with either Dieng or Towns decently. The main things this team needs is 3 point shooting a big that won't get pushed around and 3 point shooting Dubs bring 2 out of three of those. I thought his contract was another year if he can come over next season that's pretty exciting.

this is very true Dubljevic has nice polished post game, does not shy from contact down there and fights like crazy, also is 24yo, i would maybe rather have him than Belly if i would have to choose (esp. if Belly will continue to suck like he has sucked for quite some time) and definitely much rather him than Rudez

I don't see any reason why we have to choose between Dubs and Belly. Heck they may actually be able to play together at times if they both end up being solid players.

Seeing belly this season makes me wary of these euro bigs. Belly was euro league MVP and was talked up here by some as likely our 2nd best big and a guy who will finish games for us ahead of a dieng.
Belly has not adjusted well to the NBA game and is flat out a bad player now and not a rotation level guy. Can he be a decent NBA player? There is still hope but we can't count on him or dubljevic as rotation guys next season. We need better players than them ahead of the debth chart and if they improved and prove themselves, then good. But they should not be penciled in as rotation guys next season.

It's fine to be skeptical. I'm just as skeptical of rookies coming out of the NCAA, as they rarely have much of a positive impact their first year in the NBA either. It's extremely difficult to win games with rookies of any stripe.

I agree. Its just that belly was really talked up here by you and others that he will instantly be our 2nd best big and will finish games for us over NBA experience guys like dieng.
Re: Bojan Dubljevic
Does everyone remember the disappointment of Peks first year and the leap he made in his second?
I suspect that there is often a real adjustment period given the different style of play in Europe and the NBA. Belly looked to have genuine potential in his first few games. I think he has the tools required. It seems as though his issue is confidence and just getting the feel for the game. That may never come, but I don't right him off just yet.
I don't see any reason we can't attempt to develop Belly and Dub at the same time. I know they share some similarities and so we don't want o become too unbalanced with too many of any type of player, but you don't know which prospects will or won't work out, so it doesn't hurt to have a couple.

Re: Bojan Dubljevic
Sign him if we can get a reasonable deal. Then attempt to develop him and Belly. See whether either one develops. And if both develop, it's a bonus.
Re: Bojan Dubljevic
Belly's game will be better on a good team which this team could take a step towards that next year. This team needs him to be a dynamic scorer. He wants to be a passer and glue guy on offense. Also the dude is signed for basically chump change. Dubs is likely to get more money per but I think it's worth gambling on those guys ESPCIALLY since they have 3 point shooting as a likely strength.
