Maybe. I think a lot of depends on what Thibodeau wants out of his PG.

He won with a Rubio-like guy in Boston (as an asst. coach). And he won with a dominant scorer at the Point in Chicago. I couldn't tell you which one he preferred. But I think we'll find out sooner than later...

Not sure why he'd want a ball-dominant point scorer when the offensive strength of the core group that made him come to Minnesota is in the 2, 3, and 5 slots. KAT, Wiggins, LaVine, and Bazz are all scorers. Perhaps he ultimately wants a more balanced version of Rubio, meaning a guy that is perfectly happy setting the table for the offense and keeping turnovers down, but can knock down the 3 with consistency and occasionally get a big bucket when the team needs one.

Time will tell, but given the various types of PGs he's succeeded with, I don't think he's dogmatic about the topic.

I tend to agree. Could be a good test case to see how his tenure will be run.

If Dunn comes in and takes over the starting role from Ricky this team will be in tremendous shape. That's a tall order and would be a lock for a third straight ROY.

So are you guys saying starting Dunn could potentially be a good thing? If so I would very much agree.

And to add one more thing. Jim Pete was very complementary toward Rubio during that interview but during the telecasts he wasn't scared to talk about Ricky's weaknesses.

I wouldn't take any info coming out pre-draft at face value. The pre-draft posturing is a poker game, the Wolves could easily be slipping info that they want Dunn when in reality they are secretly enamoured with Murray and are hoping he will be there at 5. Also, if we take Dunn, and I'm on board with that, like Phenom said, he will have to earn the starting job, and if he does in the first year I'd agree we would have another ROY.

God I wish the Hawks would trade us Millsap for Ricky, Dieng and Bazz.

I think what they are saying is that Dunn would have to be really, really good to be able to win the job from Ricky as a rookie and would be an almost automatic ROY. Now go ask them if they think he's actually going to be that good and what the odds are of him outplaying Ricky as a rookie. I think you'll get a different answer than what you are inferring.

17/9/3 stretch 4 who made 2nd team all-NBA defense. He's the perfect fit on this team.
