Probably meaningless, for many reasons.
But interestingly enough, El Amin started 14 games that season, but never played another NBA season.
I wondered who Abe would bring up to compare to Jones and it ended up being a local guy. Nice! I liked El Amin (I mean who didn't like that energetic pudgy guy?) but to me he was just another one of those undersized scoring PGs that even back then were fairly easy to find. I believe he had a couple injuries that held him back but it did feel a little strange he didn't get another shot beyond SL and camp invites. Looking back at DX to see his international stats (he is still playing and somewhat surprisingly turns just 37 in April) I see he was smaller than I remember 5'9" without shoes and the 6'1.5" wingspan (Tyus is 6' and 6'5" respectively) so that's pretty small and he didn't make up for that with a freak vertical. Fun to go down memory lane thanks.
El Amin also had 3 years of college experience versus Tyus only having one. Between that and the size difference (in terms of height), I'm hopeful that Tyus has a better career path in the NBA, despite the similarities in rookie year stats. Interesting find though.

As a slower PG (relatively) who grew up playing basketball in Minneapolis, I'm glad our ages didn't overlap.
I have a sneaky suspicion El-Amin would have lit me up for 40 or 45.
[Note: I did get to play against another D1 PG in my final high school game though. I was outscored by a slim 32 - 0 margin as we lost by 32. I refuse, however, to acknowledge that mismatch had anything to do with the final outcome!]

Well my guess is we don't have your RPM and VORP stats to know for sure so I think your stance is valid.

I had your opponent -33, so not only did you cover, you cost me a few bucks.
