I can see Cunningham as first shot at the 4 even though I would rather Williams slot in there too. But if Williams is not a 4 then Cunningham definitely isn't. I think ultimately Turiaf will not get that much PT and the second unit will be small.

I think that Rick has a squad he really thinks can compete, and unlike his first two years, has the luxury of only playing "his guys"...hence the 9-man rotation once Bud returns. If they were able to trade two guys outside of Rick's circle of trust (such as Williams and Shved) for a real starting SF, I think he would then have 10 guys he would trust and go with this:

Pek, Ronny

Love, DC

Real starting SF, Corey

Martin, Bud

Ricky, JJ

And I think that team would be a top 4 seed.

Agreed with your top paragraph. Definitely the best Wolves team that Adelman's had to coach. As for the 10 guys he'd trust, you have the names right, but I would argue that Bud is better suited for SF than Brewer is and I'd swap them.

1. Rubio
2. Martin
3. Brewer
4. Love
5. Pekovic
6. Barea
7. Shved
8. Williams
9. Cunningham
10. Turiaf

Adelman would like to drop Williams and Shved from the rotation, replacing them with one guy who can play both the SG and SF positions off the bench. Right now, that guy would be Budinger. Ideally, I think Adelman would like to swap Williams and Shved for A bona fide starting caliber SF.

I think we'd all love to deal D-Will and Shved for a starting SF. Maybe if we all make a wish it'll happen lol.

Yep, Cam. Not likely -- Unless you consider Even Turner a starting caliber SF. I honestly do think the Wolves could get him in exchange for Williams and some other asset -- maybe Shved.

I agree with you Lipoli. I don't think Adelman wants t play Shved or Williams at the SG/SF position.

I think the starting SF will come down to fit with the primary starting 4. I would love a starting caliber SF on this team and it sucks we didn't get one in the offseason. DWill is not the answer and I think we need to make him a fulltime PF. DC is not the answer. Brewer is not the answer. Shabazz and Hummel could be the answer in time.

People are writing Shved off too early IMO.

Just to be clear, monster, I'm not writing Shved off. He hit 50% of his 3-pointers in pre-season, and has demonstrated point guard skills on an international stage. I'm merely playing off of Adelman's comment that he wants to play a 9-man rotation, and counting heads. It's pretty easy to figure out who Adelman's 9 are once Bud comes back, and there's no room for Shved or Williams in that group. Now, we all know that injuries will happen and both will get their minutes, but this thread is intended to interpret Adelman's intentions given no injuries.

Shved has value during injuries but like LST said I am not sure what he does when we are healthy. The thing is I expect Martin and Pekovic to miss 10-20 games. We need a strong back at SG and a starting SF.

Can Shved be a 3 and D guy? Just a movement and spot up guy on offense? If Martin missing any games before Bud gets back it would be scary to see what wings we have on the floor.
