If Pek was nursing this injury all week, why did he keep playing 30 some minutes a night????

Okay, the news isn't too bad. Out 7-10 days with bursitis in the ankle. I'm going to withdraw my comments about Pek's toughness, because I have no idea what that feels like. I hope the news is accurate, and this isn't recurring.

Let's see what our boy Dieng has.

Yeesh, hopefully it's truly just a 7-10 day injury.

We've been incredibly fortunate this year on the injury front. This is the first extended absence of any of our starters and I think as a collective unit, they have only missed 3 or 4 games up to this point (?). But that being said, we literally have no room for error anymore.

We'll see if a more defensive-oriented Center rotation carries the day here. I have a feeling that this truly is the death knell of our playoff hopes, as we're talking about replacing a guy that's been putting up 20 and 10 since his early season struggles. We shall see.....

It makes the Atlanta, Memphis and even Pelicans games much more difficult to win. I think Pek would have been a monster against the Hawks.. now Atlanta will likely be a favorite.

The positive spin would be this: If we still end up going 4-1, Dieng shows that he can be a defensive force, and Pek comes back strong, playoff hopes will still be alive. If, if, if....

We don't have a game tonight is what he's saying.

I saw the same thing the other night on the telecast. The report has come out that it's bursitis in his ankle. It can be painful, but hardly anything that should keep him out too long. Just need to get the inflammation out and he should be fine.

I'm now seeing reports that Pek will miss 7-10 games, and then be reevaluated. If the over/under on days missed is 10, I'm mortgaging the house to bet the "over".

It doesn't seem to me that bursitis is usually a big problem for athletes, except for pitchers if they have it in a shoulder or elbow. I can't think of any examples of basketball players missing a lot of time with bursitis. But then again, Pek hasn't exactly been The Iron Horse during his career.
