Hate to say it, but Rick Adelman's coaching this year has been inconsistent.

We are not a good road team. That is very common for teams that do not have winning cultures. I think that we have a team that may be able to build a winning culture. It definitely will not come over night.

I agree with a lot of what is said here.

But, I want to start with Shved. If Shved ever takes an off balance shot, I hope that he sits for the next week. Shved has the potential to be a decent player, but he makes some very bad decisions. I don't care how well he plays for a six minute span, if he continues to take off balanced shots, he will never be able to compete in the NBA. He has to be broken of that habit.

If he is never broken of the habit of taking bad shots, then he should not play in the NBA. Somehow, that guy thinks, at times, that the best thing for the team is for him to take a shot that he has no business taking (we've all seen it more than we like). In the long run for the Wolves, I want Shved punished for taking those shots. Anything that Adelman does to punish him for making those terrible decisions is not drastic enough, IMHO.

It is good to see Hummel start to find his place. He seems like a smart, efficient player, that is always good to have.

I really agree with those that mentioned that we need our leaders to step up and play better. Road games are hard to win. Our team leaders need to do better. If we are relying on anyone besides our team leaders in those situations, i think that we are being unrealistic.

A sort of associated point........D-Will is not the solution for tonight's game. He has had more opportunity than most to show that he can be a consistent valuable contributor. He has shown that he has a very difficult time being a consistent valuable contributor.

Brewer getting out played my Webster is not acceptable. If that guy can't be a good defender, he will justify why he should be moved back to the bench. This is his opportunity to show that he should be a starter in the NBA.

Side note.........any team that needs Brewer to take over 12 shots (or so) per game is a sub .500 team. He can be a decent scorer, if he is asked to do very little.

We've built the jumping shooting team that Adelman loves. Now we need to deal with games like this. They will happen frequently. Get accustomed to it.

Mark, lose the hate about DW. He didn't even play a minute last night. The loss is on the other players and the coach. Nobody else.

Martell Webster and Corey Brewer are more alike than we might want to believe. (Heck, both just signed contracts for about the same amount of money)

Both are fringe starters in the L. Brewer brings energy. Webster brings corner 3 shooting. Some nights, Brewer will look better... other nights... Webster will.

[Note: To every NBA team... it might be wise to overplay Webster for that left-corner 3 ball. It's been the ONLY thing he's shown to be good at it in his NBA career.]

I would have rather had Webster the Bud.

As for Adelman's coaching. I think he has the players and it is certainly on him. We seem to either blow teams out or lose close games. We are going to have to start winning the close games. That is on the coach.

I didn't consider that RA might have been punishing Shved for his wild shot last night, but now it makes sense to me. Shved was having a nice game, moving the ball well on offense and effective and energetic on defense...but that off balance shot must have sent RA through the roof. Rick has a talented, but young team, and he occasionally will need to send a message. I think he chose last night to send a message to Alexey for his ill-advised shot, and to Ricky for his unnecessary wild passes. I've reassessed my opinion of Adelman last night. It's a long season, and sending a strong message occasionally to our young players will pay off in the end.

Good observation, markbbu

Adelman is a system coach, and players need to adapt to his system. Where Jackson and Pop are players coaches, who make a system around their talent. All are successful combos but I think Adelman's rigidity is why he hasn't won a title. I am sure Pop and Jackson would know how to use Williams. To me, saying you can't reach a player because of attitude or their basketball IQ is BS. Great coaches know how to mold their players. I like Adelman, I think he can make us a really great team, but it will have to be with guys that fit his system, which sometimes has nothing to do with raw talent. Adelman dislikes iso guys, because they don't fit his system. Williams is out for that reason more than anything. Williams strengths are on iso one on one opportunities at this point. It has gotten to the point where he is overthinking things in my mind. I agree we lost last night mostly because of Kmart and Rubio having no positive impact on the game. But the point that Adelman will never go outside of his system to try and get a spark is a valid criticism and will cost us some games this year.
