I think this franchise has a serious problem when it comes to developing young talent. Our draft record for the last 5 years (bar Rubio) is absolutely shocking. Now is this too do with the players drafted, or the way we go about developing them? Just look at clubs like the Spurs who seem to turn these 'scrubs' in to legit NBA players. Why can't we do that?

Because this team looks for the absolute wrong things when it comes to evaluating talent.

As for Shabazz, he has apparently done a 180 from the way he was conducting himself during Summer League. I'm told he has become one of the hardest workers on the team. Apparently he is literally the first to arrive and last to leave every practice. And he apparently busts his behind at every practice. Also, Kevin Love urged the Wolves to consider drafting Shabazz. Knowing Kevin's super high basketball IQ, I take some comfort in Love's endorsement of Shabazz. These are all good things. Based on my own observations, Shabazz just needs to get more "team focused." I'd like to see him get longer and more athletic, but unfortunately, that's not going to happen. If Shabazz keeps working the way he has been in practice, I'm certain he'll get his chance sometime this season to establish himself as part of the rotation. So stay tuned.

I think his hard work is consistent about what his coaches have always said about him. I think the other thing to remember about Shabazz, particularly in regards to his body language, is that he has tourette syndrome. I had a guy I played in a band with who had tourettes. He constantly had to think about keeping it under control, I am sure it is no different with Bazz. I think Bazz is going to be a great player. I am glad Love went out on a limb for him. I had a premonition the Wolves were going to get him for that reason.
