The thing about it is, Shabazz didn't show any signs in the game at the Thunder or in the summer league to offer up any hope that he can contribute anymore. I told my one friend who follows the NBA closely as well that the most disturbing trend I noticed with him is his floater. He seemed to favor it in a lot of situations when at UCLA and he did it when he had the chance to go strong to the hoop against the Thunder. He's a long, strong player and he should be a better finisher at the rim but the eye test and statistics say that he is extremely poor in that regard. Our best bet is to just ride it out until Bud is back and have a 2/3 rotation of him, Martin, Brewer and Williams.
Or, we could give Shabazz a couple more chances before writing him off. I do agree that Shved isn't likely to improve drastically so it would be nice to find someone to upgrade that spot.
