Abe, you are absolutely right.
We were down one point, last position and having a Timeout: We should go inside for two points or being fouled for a better chance to win the game.

The problem is that we don't have anyone who can put the ball on the floor and attack the rim effectively. JJ isthe only guy who comes close, but he's not good enough.

Read where that was the designed play... to get Barea to the rim to create for himself or kick out to others. He lost control and had to unload too soon. I noted it elsewhere, the team needs another guy capable of creating other than the pint-sized and often erratic Barea if they are a legit playoff team.

I know D Will was playing well, but don't you bring in Pek on that last play to set the double screen with Love and JJ that usually opens Love up at the top of the key or gives JJ a better shot to get to the rim without losing control. Not to mention you can still dish Pek the ball on the roll to get a meat grinder look at the basket since we only needed 2. To me, D Will was kind of a wasted player on the last possession because everybody knew he wasn't getting the ball. Why not bring in another player who is a threat to set a good pick and get to the basket on the roll for a potential put back (even though there was no put back for Love's 3 this time).

Yep, Pek needs to be on the floor for that last play...for the reasons you cite, and also for the better chance for a put back bucket if we miss. Derrick had a nice 4th quarter, but as you say, he's not the right guy on that play.

I agree that we are weaker than most teams in beating a defender one-on-one, lip, but I would add Ricky and Kevin Martin as guys who can beat their defender and create their own shot...a lay-up or a dish off for Ricky, and a mid-range jumper for Martin. Martin has really surprised me this year. I thought he was only a long-range sniper, but he has shown the ability to beat his man off the dribble too. That said, your point is well taken...this team lags others in having guys who can create.
