I think Fredette would be a good fit here, a lights out shooter at the point would be welcome. If we can get him, without giving up Dante, sign me up. I think having him to play in stretches over JJ when JJ gets to being too much JJ would be good. Last night Barea looked good for stretches but the travel where we spun directed into Mahinimi and the other time he drove right into him and put up an easily block able shot is the reason he stunts some of what this team is doing or trying to do.

The one rub is that the final 30 or so games will PROBABLY not be about winning games. In fact, it might be about losing them. A lot of them.
And Fredette is a FA at season's end.

It depends on this next stretch of games, if we don't put together a 5-6 game streak here, or win 5 of the next 6 or 7, we will probably put ourselves too far out of reach for the playoffs.
Yes, he's a FA but if he can help us now put together a streak now and into the latter part of the season, for a 2nd round pick, that's more than whatever a 2nd round pick would do for us this season or next. As I don't think we've had a 2nd rounder help us at all or even make the team since we drafted Pek.

NOT SO FAST! Good ole Robbie Hummel's on the bench.

Haha yes! How could I forgot Robbie, clearly the most talent of all the 2nd rounders we've ever drafted or had the chance to draft. Thanks for catching that Camden.

Fredette about to be released by the Kings.
I don't think the Wolves are atop his list of choices... but personally, I think it makes sense to bring him in for an audition.
But I don't know if it works financially with the roster in place...

Will someone explain the Jimmer situation to me please. Two weeks ago, he scored 24 points on 9-14, 6-8 on threes, and since then he has played 4 minutes. He's hitting almost 50% of his threes this year, and is over 40% for his career. And now the Kings are buying him out. I never expected that he would be a good PG in the NBA, but even at 6'-2", shouldn't he be able to help some team with his three point shooting off the bench? What's the story here?

They're releasing him because they have too much bench scoring now with Derrick Williams :D

Don't know. Possibly best birthday gift Fredette can get today is being released. Good for him.
Now, maybe we'll get to see if the kid's decent success in small minutes is legit or a mirage. Without knowing more... I'm siding AGAINST what Sacramento thinks. That's the safe bet at least...
