Somebody earlier mentioned Martin could be angling for a trade to a serious contender this year. I'm torn on this, in the past I would say trade him, but I think he could help this team's confidence this year. What do you guys think?
If Martin is playing well enough a team wants to trade for him you better get something pretty good back or what's the point? What if the Wolves end up with young players good enough to send Martin to the bench...sounds like a good problem and paying a guy around 7 million to score 15-16ppg off the bench seems pretty reasonable to me especially when the cap is gonna keep going up. Does Martin want to go to a contender? Idk that is a possible angle. He came to the Wolves because they looked to be a team that was going to be at least good and had a giant hole at SG so idk Mins may matter more although I'm sure comfort level with Adelman helped that decision as well to come to the Wolves. Its possible Martin looks at this team 30 or games in and says heck this team could be a playoff team very soon I want to be part of this. I think its really interesting how Mo ended up here all things considered. There is so much uncertain about this team it will be interesting to see how things play out.

Another strong game for Martin, as he again led the team in scoring (26-7-3), held his opponent to less than 10 points, and looked for the ball with the game on the line. More of the same that we saw in his first two games.
Barreiro just talked about Martin with Flip on today's version of the Funkadelic. Dan mentioned that everything looks different about Martin this season...even his body language...and asked Flip if coaching had anything to do with it. Flip sidestepped the question, as he does most of them, but did say he wasn't going to allow any effort lapses on the court. Kevin has apparently gotten the message.
But with Flip it's more than effort...he also wants his players to play smart and help teammates out. Flip answered the question I had as to why he gave Shabazz the quick hook last night despite good production. Flip acknowledged that Muhammad was working hard, as always, but said he missed some offensive assignments and wasn't helping his teammates on offense. He also supported world's opinion last night that a lot of the reason Mo wasn't effective was on Shabazz. Interesting...I hope Shabazz learns from this and doesn't pout, because we need his ability to score in bunches.

I'll listen to the funkadelic but from what you said Flip both complimented and gave sort of a constructive criticism on Bazz with those comments. Basically Bazz just has to learn to play hard AND do what he is supposed to do. I don't think its a selfish thing just a figuring it out thing.
