Dougie nailed the JJ news before it came out, and in the same tweet he said Rubio will be signed this week for $52 million. Maybe he's right on this one too.

I think Flip tired his hardest to get something back for JJ, but there just wasn't any interest...not even a second round pick. Flip really tried to sell JJ publicly, saying he was the best player in preseason and giving him end of game duties against the Bulls. I actually fell for it, but it looks like the other GMs didn't.

He had potential to be a malcontent this year, and Flip didn't want any of that. JJ could have helped us win a couple games this year, but I still think this is the right move. Flip continues to impress.

I would bet JJ took a discount so he could move on to a team where he would get more time. I sure Flip's concern was JJ's attitude in not getting consistent minutes.

I still would have dumped Robbie, mainly because he isn't a PF offensively or defensively, and would easily be replaceable if we had to go that route later on. As for the "they won't hurt you" comment, I don't know what to say to that. Being a lousy defender, and offensive player hurts the team by allowing opponents to focus their attention on the other players. I suppose the fact that he won't complain about minutes, holds some value.

I'm so relieved.

Sounds like via Wolfson (Edit: sorry it was Zgoda see below) Flip wanted JJ to play a role and JJ said he wasn't willing to do that. JJ going to Dallas makes alot of sense. Thats a good move or them. Its nice the Wolves get to save a few bucks by buying out JJ.

GR3 without a D-league affiliate will pretty much stay with the main team. GR3 is a guy thats plays much better with a system so just playing isn't really gonna help him much but I bet they will send him down for a couple games like they did with Bazz.

Shorthand on Wolves' decision: Flip wanted him for specific role, but JJ not willing to accept not playing nightly so they mutually agreed..

I wonder if we will look at someone cut by another team.

I get the Dallas connection. But that backcourt is already a mess.

Jameer Nelson
Devin Harris
Raymond Felton

And now an even smaller player added to this mix?

I can see Felton being cut or traded

So how does this work? Dallas or LA makes a waiver claim him but doesn't have to pay him next year? We don't "share" his salary if he signs with somebody else?

In any case, good move by GM Flip here. Now we don't have to hear from people here how great he was on the Dallas championship team.
