Oh yeah, I almost forgot the Wieners Circle in Lincoln Park. This is a place to get a hot dog and trade the most crass insults you can think of with the person who sells you the dog. This is mostly a night-time thing, but it's gotten on TV because of it too. Also, when you order a hot dog, you'll be asked "do you want everything?" just say "yeah." That's a Chicago style dog. It's the default in town.

Matt is ready for Chi-town after that excellent report, drew. Great call on the Museum of Science and Industry...one of my favorite museums.

I KNOW! The Museum of Science and Industry is awesome and while you sometimes gotta deal with school groups, it's worth it.

I miss that town. Love it here in Germany, but especially in the summer, holy cow, it's tough to go wrong by Chicago. I forgot a few things though. Lincoln Park Zoo (free) is mostly outdoors if the weather is nice, Navy Pier is a bit of a zoo (got a Children's museum if you have kids), but there's a ton of things to do, and Second City! How could I forget Second City? If you're into comedy Matt, you should DEFINITELY go. It seems like half of the great comedians in American history came out of Second City. There's also the Steppenwolf if you're into serious theater and a bunch of places you can see Broadway style musicals if you're into that.

The other thing I was thinking, but it's out of season, was you might want to try to go see a high school basketball game. This would definitely be a way to see a side of Chicago that tourists don't see and most Chicagoans don't either. Curie, Whitney Young, and especially Simeon are all there in Chicago and every year it seems like each of those teams has top college prospects and guys you know are going to make it to the NBA(Jahlil Okafor came out last year). I'm still kicking myself I didn't go see Jabari Parker there a couple years ago when I had the chance. It's one thing to check out draft express and watch prospect videos, but it's a whole 'nother ballgame to see these kids actually play in high school. If you were going in April, you could even go to the McDonald's All American game which is a ton of fun (although a few years ago, I came away thinking Doc Rivers' kid was going to be good in the NBA, so put an asterisk next to any conclusions you draw).

Dankeschön Drew!

You guys have been a great help! Unfortunately I am there for only 3 nights as have just started a new job in Canada and don't want to get greedy with taking too much time off. Considering it takes the best part of a day and 3 different flights to get there we only have two full days, but will cram as much as we can in. Might have to come back and chill with my hommies in the South Side another time though. The food sounds epic and I'll be sure to eat as much as I can.

We regualrly use AirBnB and have started enquiring - great website and great way to meet the locals. Hotels in the city are all $200 + per night which is a bit out of our budget after 'flashpacking' around the world for the last six months.

It's a pity your not still there Drew, would have been nice meeting you, but thanks heaps for the advice.

As for my boy Steven Adams, he's been a monster in the pre season. And the stauche was all class!
