Phenom - Yes, I did have some information. I spoke to someone very high in the organization a week before the draft. I can tell you that Flip had 2 targets at #13. One if them was off the board when we were on the clock, but I still don't want to say who. The other was LaVine. Flip was extremely high on LaVine well before the draft. And yes, Flip had Wiggins #1 on his draft board. I knew before the draft that Flip was targeting Klay Thompson as his second choice in a Love deal. Getting Wiggins was always Flip's first choice but he knew it couldn't happen unless LeBron went there. When I say he knew, I mean he knew for a fact - meaning he had already talked with the Cavs. Nothing earth-shattering now, but everything I was told then has priced to be true.

Lip, are they still exploring a trade for that guy, and does his name have three successive letters in it.

Garrett Temple? Can anyone else name another NBA player with three consecutive letters?

I also think Cam is correct in his Stauskas guess. I can't come up with another guy who would both fit a Wolves' need and have a chance of being there at #13. Maybe McDermott, but most mocks had him gone by 13.

I think he meant like "rst". But I have no idea who he is talking about

I'm pissed at sjm for throwing that out there and making me spend 10 minutes perusing every NBA roster looking for three consecutive letters.

I'm worried I may have a problem...

Flip got what he wanted. I believe there were reports that we were one of the teams along with philly that will surely draft wiggins @1 if we won the lottery. That and my faith in wiggins has always made me believe that the cavs deal is the best one for us and what flip believes and wanted as well.

Now, as far as the ithe player we are targetting @13, i have to go with cam in saying stauskus. It seems like an obvious one and something lip might not hold back from us. That makes me think it could be someone else...hmm

I think there are multiple guys I could see Flip hoping fell so I'll wait for when Lip reveals his mystery other #13 man on his death bed. He will post it with his iPhone 25s Lol

Lip Goddamit, you don't have to share anything you don't want to. But don't say you know something and then refuse to disclose it. Anybody can do that. And if everybody did, this board would suck.

Lol. Ok, Cool. Cam was right. :). There was no close third. These were the only two guys Flip really loved at #13. He had both rated way higher than #13.

Tooting my horn! Beeeep, beeeeep! Lol I figured Flip was a smart man. Stauskas was definitely better than 13th best on a draft board. I do wonder how high Flip had him on his personal board.

4 teams: Cleveland, Chicago, Golden State, and either Houston or Boston.

My guesses, in order, on the other player:
1. McDermott (this is the guy with 3 successive letters the other poster was referring to..cDe)
2. Stauskas (similar to McDermott, but less of a finished product)

The 4th team could be the Nuggets too, they were in on him early.

Agree. Faried and affalo along with the 11th pick and others I believe was in play. Not a deal Il take but it is a deal with 2 proven starters so its a serious proposal. Nevertheless, we got the best out of the possible deals in wiggins and cavs deal.
