What Lebron said sounded like a guy that wanted to play with young talent and be a guy to lead a young team not try and get that team to load up with Love. Lebron will get what he wants and I think he wants young talent that will be here for years to come. That's Wiggins. I'll gladly be wrong though.
Really? Wonder why he didn't include Wiggins' or Bennett's names in a very detailed letter then... Oops.

Yeah, every time I read the letter, I lean toward a different conclusion. I think that portion is very artfully written, to preserve the mystery until everything plays out.

Waiters name has been floated in these rumors too is he untouchable because Lebron mentioned him? Was Lebron going to go all KD and start mentioning everyone in the Cavs organization in the letter? I am not saying the omission isn't noteworthy it is I am just saying the overall tenor of the letter seems like he is plenty happy with young talent.
So the Cavs are moving Gee into the Asik NO trade and getting haywood in another deal. Maybe more cap room for another player or to make a trade. Cavs have a lot of assets to work with.
I know many here, like me, are generally annoyed by Bill Simmons, and he was especially annoying on ESPN this morning. He said that Flip definitely blinks and accepts a deal without Wiggins, because he just won't get a better offer. Really depressing. He said the Celtics are the only team able to offer anything good, but that their offer wouldn't be as good as a non-Wiggins Cavs offer.. He never mentioned Chicago, so either he doesn't have any idea what he is talking about, or the Bulls are out of the discussion.

No way that happens Flip might as well endure the downsides of having Love on the roster than accept that.
monsterpile wrote:There have been reports both ways but there have been reports Wiggins and his camp have been told he isn't being traded. Of course everyone in the media said Lebron hadn't met with anyone from the Cavs and he did.
Edit: I voted neither.
To be fair, in their position they HAD to tell the guy he's not being traded. They didn't know if they could get Lebron to actually come back.
If Flip accepts a non-Wiggins deal, he should be ostracized routinely, here and everywhere, until he fades from public view.
Okay, that was harsh. I'm just tired of the ongoing presumption that our front office will eventually roll over for anyone and everyone because, derp, we're Minnesota. We're going to be terrible when Love leaves, and that won't change depending on what happens with this specific trade. I'd rather be extra terrible while demonstrating a little spine than slightly less terrible while capitulating to the overriding media narrative of weakness that permeates this franchise.
Also, look at it from Cleveland's perspective. They have the opportunity to surround the reigning best player in the game with two top-20 guys 25 or younger. Lebron has maybe 4-5 years of high-level play remaining. Can Cleveland really afford to spend 1-2 of those years nurturing a raw young talent like Wiggins? Remember, Love is freaking 25. He's entering his prime. He's also a tremendously good fit, as a true stretch four, next to Lebron and Kyrie. I simply don't see how the Cavs can afford not to do it.
Bottomline: Love is more valuable to them than Wiggins is to us. Period. Let's hope Flip understands this.
Simmons has no sources and doesn't think things through a whole lot. He's just a media personality and a basketball fan. I know with a high degree of confidence that the Bulls have offered Gibson, Butler and a future first for Love. No doubt in my mind that the Cavs will ultimately offer Wiggins as part of a package for Love unless for some unknown reason LeBron has told the Cavs organization he doesn't want Love on the team.
Horatio, I don't understand your comment about the ongoing presumption that Minnesota will roll over, when only one of us has voted that way! 10 others have voted that Flip will not roll over and trade Love without Wiggins coming back. Am I missing your point here?
BTW, I really like the way this poll is going (even though I'm still thinking "no deal"). If the board is right again, the Wolves will have unloaded a disgruntled bad locker room guy, and picked up a potential superstar (plus other young pieces).
