Unfortunately it will always be the reality of this organization.
I just saw Herschel Walker, and he said he wanted to talk to you about something.

Im unfamiliar with any real success the nuggets have had, I dont think they made the playoffs this year.

Now you're just playing dumb, the nuggets were basically just as good after the trade.

At least teams like Orlando, NO, Denver and Utah got building blocks as a direct result of their trades. Something is better than nothing in almost every case that has happened so far with the recent star moves (Toronto being the only net neutral as they have been able to recover decently through the draft since Bosh left).
Rebuilding would be a lot easier had this team not been out of the playoffs for the last decade. Flip can't prepare some speech about transitioning and patience without people losing their minds and giving up on him and the team

Since when is getting 2 quality starters and draft picks rebuilding? My proposed deal gives us a starting 5 of Ricky/Martin/Butler/Gibson/Pek. That's a possible playoff team. Hard to call that a rebuild.

Whoa, slow down there. That is no way a playoff team khans. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. If having a superstar in love cant get us there, I dont think thaqt team will. i dont think a team with kevin martin as their leading scorer ever made the playoffs.

Well last year when they had Gallinari healthy they won 57 games in the West. The last year Carmelo was in Denver they won 54 games. In 2012, the Knicks won 54 games in the East. Neither the Knicks or Nuggets made the playoffs this year.
Denver owns NY's first round pick this year and they have the right to swap first round picks in 2016.
In this case, Denver traded their star player and came out ahead. At the least, they came out better than New York did.
Another winning situation one could argue is Orlando with the Dwight Howard deal, though their W/L record doesn't show it yet.

In all fairness, I think Pekovic would be the leading scorer on that team, but your point is still valid. There's likely not enough scoring there, BUT the defense would be improved heavily.
That trade would classify as a re-tool for me because we'd be taking on a whole new identity as a team, but still fringe playoff team. Going from shootouts to grindouts. High scoring to good defense. We would need an offensive player to become a star... *cough, cough* Nik Stauskas. :thumb:
